Boxing Day Sales Haul: New Look, Boohoo, Dorothy Perkins

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will finally be sharing with you all the things I bought during the Boxing Day Sales. I don’t know about you, but I genuinely enjoy and look forward to the sales after Christmas; it is something I get myself out of bed for and we actually do it as a family, so it’s a nice little trip for us! This year I was very lucky and received some money and vouchers which I spent as soon as the sales came out! Anyway, I will try to remember prices but there are some that there is no way I will ever know!

The first place I went to was New Look. I think I’ve already thrown my receipt away but everything I bought came to £25 in total, as that was the voucher I had. The first thing I bought from there was this gorgeous khaki green choker neck top. I’ve already worn this for New Year’s Eve and it definitely caught people’s attention! Despite being long-sleeved, it is much more of a top as oppose to a jumper because it’s quite thin, but for a night out it does look stunning! It has a ribbed-like effect and a very low V-cut, which I personally like to show off my assets a little bit! I thought the choker would annoy me a bit because I’ve never worn one before but I think it’s one of those things you’ve just got to get used to.

The next thing I bought I’ve also already worn but it was the item I was most excited for! It’s this chestnut bardot top which is made out of a silk-like material, making it really shiny and quite easy to wipe things off of (which I need being the clumsy oaf I am!). I personally love the bardot style and this is something I could wear for everyday or dress up for the evening. It’s really lightweight and floaty, meaning it doesn’t matter what size I am or how much I’ve eaten, it will still fit and look really flattering. I also received a fair few compliments when I wore this out too, which always boosts the self-esteem slightly!

The penultimate thing I bought from New Look was this grey cross-cut style top with mid-length sleeves. It’s not ribbed like the first one but is the same kind of weight and thickness, so it’s not warm enough to be worn on it’s own at this time of year but it is still stunning, dressed up or down. I actually really like this style (though you can’t really see it, I’m sorry!) as I find it quite flattering but still very simple. It might make odd tan lines in the summer but I think it is more suited to these colder months! This and the khaki top are quite tight-fitted but if I was to tuck them into a skirt or high-rise jeans, I don’t mind too much!

The final item from New Look was another top (there’s a theme here!) which is, again, grey but with a black, lacy bardot detailing at the shoulders. This is a bit big for me and is much more of a jumper than a top but I do think this will mean I wear it much more for daytime. This is quite long, but I’m sure it can look amazing tucked into jeans and I’ve already planned to wear it slightly dressed up. This has a grey marl effect and is super soft but the lace just adds a little bit of style to it which dresses it up slightly. I really liked this and I’m sure it will be a timeless piece!

I then went onto Boohoo where a bit more money was spent! The first thing I bought (because I did need them, honestly!) was this pair of ribbed black leggings. You can’t really see the ribbed effect in the picture but they are just your average full-length leggings. These cost £6 and weren’t actually in the sale because I genuinely did need a new pair of leggings! I also bought the top in this picture which has a chequered red/black/white print. I thought it was just a nice little top I could wear for summer either with jeans/leggings or tucked into a skirt as it’s basically a cropped cami! It also includes a little bit of black (i.e. comfort zone) but introduces some colour, which I’ve been told I need! This is quite floaty and just hangs from the boobs but it is things like this that I live in during the summer! And for only £2, I couldn’t turn it down!

I then went ahead and purchased this gorgeous burgundy jumper. I don’t know if you can see it in the picture but it has slits in the sleeves, which is kind of a ‘cold shoulder’ effect, as the website told me! I really do like this and it is a thick-knitted material which I really like day-to-day though, again, I could quite easily dress it up (there’s another theme here!). I actually wore this to a college interview the other day because I do think it makes me look like a young sophisticated woman, when in actual fact the highlight of my life is getting a Chinese takeaway! It does have some black, woven inserts which, of course, I love and yeah, another staple piece that I think I will be getting my wear out of! This was only £8 and is quite short-cut, so is perfect for tiny little Rach!

The final two things I bought from Boohoo were playsuits that I literally want to die in, they are so beautiful! The first one is this black and grey chequered piece which would be perfect for January/February when you don’t know what to wear, but you know you want it to be nice! This is long-sleeved but still quite thin and finishes about mid-thigh on me. This is a bit out of my comfort zone before I’ve fully toned up again, but I think with my black vans and a pair of tights, it could look amazing for a meal out without looking too dressy. Like the very first top from New Look, this has a very low V-cut neckline and a slight off-the-shoulder type effect, though that might just be because I’m too small for it, and has a wrap-over thing which I think is very flattering should you want to present the assets in a much more sophisticated way than ‘here’s my tit’! It’s a super soft but stretchy material and, once I start toning up again, I’m super excited to get myself in this for an evening out! This was only £6.

The other playsuit I bought is much more suited to festivals and Spring/Summer, which I am hoping on doing this year (festivals that is, I think Spring/Summer goes without saying!). This is a rusty, peach-y toned playsuit with some black lace detailing at the neckline. This is a bit more difficult to get into because of the cold shoulder effect, but once it’s on it does look stunning! It has spaghetti straps at the shoulders and then much baggier sleeves going down to around the elbow which then cinch in. This is, again, mid-thigh but if I was to wear this for the warmer weather, I don’t mind that too much. I think this would be a bit too heavy for a holiday abroad (though for the evening it may be better) or August when it’s really hot but early Summer, I can see myself living in this. It is much less booby than the other playsuit, but it still allows a little cleavage to be shown. This cinches in at the waist much more noticeably, so I will need to lose a little bit more weight in order to feel 100% comfortable in it, but I am just so excited to wear this out! This retailed for £6, as well.

I then decided with some left over money that I wanted to buy myself a new bag specifically for when I start college in September. I figured now would be the best time as the sales are on and I actually have money so better earlier than later! Something that surprised me was I found this bag in Dorothy Perkins, literally the last place I looked! This is a really simple bag with a suede-effect flap over the rest of the bag which is magnetically shut. It doesn’t have a zip but it just means I would have to keep my phone in my pocket, which I do now so doesn’t bother me too much. It is, of course, black, so will go with everything and I love the difference of the materials used as it makes it look a little bit more alive! It has a long shoulder strap so I can just grab it and go, and is big enough to fit A4 files and papers in. It has a little bit of gold detailing at the magnet and where the straps join the bag, which, again, makes it seem a little bit more alive and less flat or 2D! This was in the sale for only £17 and they had another one but with a brown/fawn coloured suede flap instead of black, but I thought black would be much more practical!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls and I’m so happy I’ve finally been able to write one after what feels like forever! Let me know what you bought in these Boxing Day Sales if anything or what you thought of things I purchased for myself!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,

Rachel xx

New Look Christmas Wishlist 2016 | Blogmas

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I thought I would write for you another fashion wishlist, but this one being much more Christmassy and themed around the festive period (always a fave of mine!). I think we can still order to be able to receive these things before the big day itself so if you spot anything you like, grab it whilst you can! And what other way to spend it than with one of my all-time favourite high street shops, New Look! All of these things were on the Women’s Christmas Shop section of the New Look website at the time of writing (11/12/16).

Grey Home Alone Christmas Pyjama Set – £19.99

It had to be done really! Some readers may know my undying love for pyjamas and if they have fair-isle patterned leggings, a big slouchy top and a pre-pubescent Macaulay Culkin – I’m sold! In all seriousness, new pyjamas (let alone Christmas pyjamas!) make me feel so cosy and there’s just something about them that makes me even more excited to go to bed at night (not that I need any help with that!). And big slouchy tops are amazing as I’m so small because in the summer I could get away with just wearing that and not the leggings. The red of it just makes it feel so Christmassy, as well! Just above the picture it reads ‘Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal’ which is my favourite quote from Home Alone and I actually have another little top that says that, actually! I’m just so in love with these pyjamas!

White Mince Pies Contrast Trim T-Shirt – £9.99

I know this is going to sound quite strange considering the festive freak I am, but I don’t actually like anything too garish to wear around Christmas; my jumper this year’s only got a penguin on! So this top would be perfect for me in the days surrounding Christmas as it has two mince pies on them (is it supposed to be a nipple joke?) and above it says ‘kissing guys for mince pies’ which I think is just a nice little sarcastic/sadistic saying, in whatever way you read it! It’s also fairly plain and the writings relatively small so people afar won’t be able to read it (which is sometimes a good thing!). I love the contrast trim trend, as well, and it’s so casual – it’s basically a t-shirt made for me!

Grey Coca Cola Print Christmas Jumper – £19.99

The next thing I found I fell in love with immediately! I think these Coca Cola jumpers came out a few years ago but I never got my hands on one, unfortunately. I do love me a good cosy jumper and one that’s so simplistic like this is right up my alley. Also, we all know it’s Christmas once the Coca Cola truck has come out! I feel like this is so Christmassy without being too in your face and would be perfect for Christmas Eve or the days before/after Christmas as a little nod towards it, but nothing too over the top. This would also be suited to those who are in between the extravagant Christmas lovers and those who are complete Scrooges.

Black Champagne Slogan Back Dressing Gown – £19.99

I swear to you, this dressing gown was made for me! I already have a dressing gown from New Look and they are literally the softest things ever and make you feel so cosy in the evening with a little hot chocolate and some unnecessary reality TV, so of course I need another one! This one is black (perfect already) and says on the back ‘I only get out of bed for champagne’. Yes please, thank you very much! Me and my Mum constantly joke and talk about champagne just because so I think we would have a hard time fighting this one out! Also, from personal experiences, I know these dressing gowns are amazing!

And that is all I could find for this blog post! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I feel like I haven’t written enough but I’d rather write this much on things I like as oppose to just lying to you about things I don’t like. Let me know what you liked from this little selection or what new Christmas jumpers/other bits and bobs you’ve bought recently. I would love to hear about them!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you tomorrow,

Rachel xx

New Look Wishlist | August 2016

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you some little bits and pieces I have found on the New Look website that I am entirely craving! I’m someone who doesn’t always have the money to go shopping and so this affects the amount of hauls I can share on this here blog but I think that this idea could help combat that missing segment of on trend fashion here on the blog (that was the most long-winded sentence I’ve ever written!). I have taken these from the New In section (at time of writing which is 14/08/16) and I hope you enjoy! I love New Look so this just allows me to share some of my new favourite trends with you guys without breaking the bank!

Black Lace Balloon Midi Skirt (£24.99)

Black Lace Balloon Midi Skirt | New Look

At the moment I am loving midi skirts and this one here is a gorgeous black one with a little bit of shape to it that I think will help accentuate my hips (which I like) and skim over my tummy (which I also like!). This also has a slight lacy pattern and an almost mini-skirt underskirt that is completely opaque for modesty reasons (thanks New Look!). I really like how this has an elasticated band to make wearing it even easier but to also further accentuate my waist and hips. Also, because this is black I could wear it all year round with a variety of tops so I think this is something I would definitely get my money’s worth out of! It also looks so elegant and I think for slightly more formal things (like birthday meals out in a proper restaurant) this would be perfect! I am quite short so it may appear quite long on me but that’s only an excuse to wear it even higher waisted!

Peach Sateen Bardot Neck Top – £15.99

Peach Sateen Bardot Neck Top | New Look

A trend I’m loving at the moment is bardot sleeves. I bought a dress a couple of years ago with this trend and ever since I have been on the hunt for even more of these items! New Look have a range of colours of these tops or types of tops and this is the one I’ve fallen in love with! I feel like this nude-y/brown-y/pink-y shade is a very on trend colour as it is (throwing it back to the 90’s!) and I feel it could compliment my skin once I have a tan because it does look a lot warmer than when I’m pale (obviously!). This is elasticated at the sleeves which I also love because I have quite broad shoulders and I’m a very ‘doing’ person (if that makes sense). This is also super flowy so is perfect for everyday wear when I’m just out and about but it could also be dressed up by being tucked into a skirt. The sleeves themselves aren’t fitted which helps for my ‘curvy’ arms! I just think the colour of this is so beautiful – I need it in my life!

Black Busy Doing Nothing Pyjama Set – £14.99

Black Busy Doing Nothing Pyjama Set | New Look

These pyjamas perfectly describe me! Anyone who knows me will know what an introvert I am and how I just love procrastinating or spending my days doing absolutely nothing so these were actually made for me! And their black! I’m actually on the hunt for a new set of pyjamas and I do love the ones with quite slim-leg leggings and baggy tops (I’m wearing a set right now!). The bottoms have a drawstring though they’ll probably be useless on me; everything either fits perfectly or are too small where I’ve tried to be ‘optimistic’. I just love the kind of baseball top vibe (is it baseball top?) and how baggy and just generally cosy they look! I think it’s really good value for money as well considering you get the whole package, as it were. And I wear these types of pyjamas all year round, so I would definitely get my wear out of them!

Black Mesh Panel Cold Shoulder Skater Dress – £29.99

Black Mesh Panel Cold Shoulder Skater Dress | New Look

I’m going to be entirely honest with you now – I don’t actually own a Little Black Dress (I can hear you all screaming at me now! I know, I’m sorry!), so when I saw this one I had to pounce on it! I love this sort of cold shoulder style with the mesh holding you all in a little bit more than a simple bardot sleeved dress would and the circular trim at the neckline just gives it a bit more of a girly edge. I love skater dresses; they are by far my favourite style of dress. They hang so perfectly on my body and cinch in at my waist to accentuate my hips as well and they do tend to fit me quite well in terms of length. I think this would look amazing on nights out and it’s so versatile – I’m already dreaming of all the makeup opportunities! This could also be worn all year round and I just feel it would make me look super feminine and show off the bits I like but hide the things I don’t like (always a positive!). The sleeves themselves are also quite floaty so won’t suck in on my arms at all (another bonus!). Very happy with this one!

Green Camo Print Tunic Dress – £19.99

Green Camo Print Tunic Dress | New Look

And finally, we have another little dress but this one I think would be more suited to everyday wear! I feel like this is quite a bold print to try and pull off and this dress may not suit me (I’ve tried dresses that just hang like this before but my boobs have made it hang out further and inevitably make me look about 20 months pregnant) but there is something about it that gives me hope. I can just imagine wearing it with an over-sized denim jacket and little white plimsoll-type shoes and it working. Hopefully. I feel like the different shades of green would compliment my dirty blonde hair quite well, also. This is a very simple little dress that (as I’ve mentioned) could be dressed up and accessorized very nicely. It has the typical camouflage print that New Look seems to be loving at the moment and it just hangs in quite an over-sized way. Again, the sleeves aren’t tight! I think I could; I hope I could anyway!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I’ve really enjoyed writing this one! If you like this idea let me know in the comments and if you do, let me know what other online shops or brands I should write about! This was only a handful of pieces; New Look has a lot in at the moment for you all to have a look at! Don’t forget to also let me know which is your favourite!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,

Christmas Money Haul 2016: Claires, New Look & Boohoo

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I have a haul for you which I haven’t done in the longest time so I’m just really excited! These are items I bought with money that I got for Christmas so most of the stuff I’m going to show you was in the sales (I’m sorry). Everything I’ve bought I truly love as I feel like if I’m spending other people’s money I shouldn’t waste it. This is mainly fashion related but there are some other bits and bobs I’m going to show you. I’m so excited to show you everything I’ve bought! This one may be a long one so do get yourself a hot beverage to enjoy whilst we recollect everything! Also, I have the worst memory so I’m not going to include any prices just so I don’t feel bad when I leave some out.

The first place I went was Claire’s as I had a voucher and vouchers are the reason I leave the house after Christmas, if I’m going to be honest! I’m nearly 15 (which is just weird and odd in all ways) so I do struggle to look for things in Claire’s I will use and make the most out of; my go to would be 20 million lip balms but I already have so many of them to use up as it is!

I’m sorry for the bluriness of this photo, I promise they’re not all like this!

The first thing I purchased from there was this canvas board that says ‘Enjoy the little things’ in blue glitter. They had a range of these and this one was my favourite out of the selection and let’s be honest, this looks so cool! I have this hung up on my wall so it brings a lot of colour to my white walls. Nothing like a glittery, motivational quote! Also, I thought it was funny because I’m small so enjoy this little bundle of 5 foot 1 goodness (though the other day I got measured and it said I was 5ft2 and a half inches. I don’t think so!)! I really like this and it’s hung on the wall at the end of my bed so when I wake up every morning it’s there to greet me! The canvas itself is fairly small (I don’t know measurements, I’m sorry!) so can fit into any space you may have. It also has a hook so can easily be placed onto a nail in the wall because everyone has loads of them lying around, clearly!

The second thing I bought from Claires was a Pineapple flavoured face mask. As I type I haven’t yet used it but I’m really excited to; I love tropical fruits as it reminds me of holidays (and sun and orange and all the good things I miss so much in life!). I don’t use face masks all the time as I do tend to forget I have them on and so don’t wash them off but I think I’m going to enjoy this one a lot! I don’t know how many benefits it has but I’m going to share this with my Mum because I chose this one with her and I know how much she likes pampering! Yay!

The second place I went was New Look but this was online so you’re probably more likely to get this stuff! Haha. I bought a *lot* from here so I’m going to try and categorise it but hey, it’s me! Also, there are a lot of crop tops and I did want to write a crop top look book with other one’s I already own in the Spring so let me know if you still want to see that. I probably will, but hey! And I look really fat in these photos, I’m sorry for burning your eyes!

I think I will actually start with the crop tops. The first I bought was this grey one with quite thick straps and a button-style feature at the front. I love this and I think I’ll get to much wear out of this one! The crop tops are really cheap at the moment in the sale at New Look so grab some whilst you can! If I’m going to be really honest, I wanted this because I knew that the circular neckline would really make certain curves stand out and make them look their best, so sorry for that! It is sleeveless so I am going to keep it for Spring/Summer but I could wear this with leggings, jeans, my black leather skirt, just everything! Even shorts, maybe, if I’m feeling really adventurous! This is one of my favourites! Also, because of the thick straps I don’t have to worry about a bra! Girl issues, seriously!

The next crop top I bought was this one here and it has an absolutely gorgeous pink and black floral pattern on! I look disgusting in this picture, I’m so sorry! I feel like this one is a little longer so could potentially be tucked into a very high-waisted skirt but I love it. Being ‘big-chested’ I may struggle with the bra strap issue as it has spaghetti straps but we’ll work around it, we’ll find a way! For this top, I will. I don’t know why I got so many crop tops; I just went on a splurge! Body confidence! I feel like the last one was very everyday whereas this one could be more dress-y perhaps because of the pattern. I did buy this for the pattern; it’s so stunning though it does look more black and white in the picture. It does show my cleavage off a bit too which I like.

The third crop top is this neon orange, ribbed textured one. These were everywhere last summer and so I thought I would jump on the band wagon. When taking these photos I was wearing a terrible bra, I’m sorry (I feel like all I’m doing is apologising!)! I did buy this just because it was orange and orange is my life; I’m not even kidding you! I don’t actually own that many orange items of clothing so I thought this one would just be perfect and it was so cheap as well! I could also pair this with black shorts in the summer or just leggings or whatever. I love it though! Oh, and all three of these crop tops were stretchy and ranged from a size 10-14 because when you love something you will shrink for it!

I did also buy a normal sized top and it was another orange one only this one is more of a lighter orange, more of a peach if you will. This is in a 12 but it’s HUGE! This is supposed to be baggy and it really is! This is just another everyday top with a small pocket (my hairs kind of hiding it but you can see the bottom of it) and it has mid-tops-of-the-arm’s length. I think I’m going to get a lot of wear out of this as well as you can wear it with shorts or leggings or jeans or just about anything! I love everyday tops, they’re so comfy and you can wear them anytime, anywhere. New Look is also really good quality and because it’s pretty plain this could last me years. It is very long though (it goes past my bum) so I do have to slightly raise it when wearing it so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing my Mum’s clothes (despite my Mum being smaller than me!)!

In everyday wear, I also bought this pair of leggings. Well, they were called leggings but they’re a bit thicker and sturdier than leggings so I’d call them trousers if we’re going to be fussy about it! I’ve wanted a pair of ‘leggings’ with a pattern on like this for literally years as it will go with any plain top or black/plain jumper so would be really handy. Other than this I literally own black jeans, black leggings and one pair of blue jeggings. I just wanted a bit of life and I think with something plain on top it can look really nice. Also, building that confidence up! Like leggings, it doesn’t have any kind of zip or anything, they’re just a pull-up kind of thing (which is a bonus in my books considering I forget about fliers a lot! My life is one massive awkward moment, I swear!).

Onto nightwear, I bought this blue and red, tartan patterned playsuit. I don’t own anything like this and I thought this would be perfect for summer. I realise a lot of this is for summer but it was so cheap I couldn’t resist it! Considering it was in the sale as well it’s really good quality! It has spaghetti straps and has a really thin, lightweight material so will be great for those hot Summer Nights (name that musical!). I just hope I’m not jinxing hot weather for 2016! Very looking forward to wearing this. Also, if I do go on a summer holiday this wear, it’s very small and easy to fold-up so won’t take up much room in my bag. I don’t know how I’m going to feel once this is uploaded and this picture is out there … oh well! Body Confidence Round 2!

I also bought myself a new dressing gown which I’m entirely in love with! This is very easily another of my favourites! My current one is pink with lighter pink hearts on from Monsoon in size 9-10 (years, might I add) and is still too big for me so I thought it was time for a new one! This one is in Medium and fits me perfectly. It’s not too long or too short and ties round comfortably. The best bit: ‘This girl loves sleep’ is written in black on the back and it just describes me perfectly! It’s more of a creamy white and is super soft and fluffy and I’m just in love with this dressing gown! I would literally sleep in this as well, it’s so cosy!

Onto socks. I love socks and they had an offer on which I had to take. The one’s with a penguin face on once you line them up were in the sale and were really good value for SOCKS with PENGUINS on (I could not want much more in life!) so of course into my basket it went! I also bought three other pairs which were in an offer for something like 3 for 2 or something like that, I’m not too sure. One is navy with red anchors on (I’m craving an anchor tattoo!), another is white with cartoon/superhero-style words on (like ‘Boom’, ‘Pow’, etc., we’re a very superhero based family!) and another with red tartan print (they were too cute!). I wear socks literally all the time and I have a weird obsession for them so it was a no brainer really!

The last thing I bought from New Look was this Top/Base Coat Nail Polish. You know when you’ve got that odd £3 or so left and you don’t know what to get because you’ve already bought 4 pairs of socks and 3 crop tops so you turn to the Beauty section for much needed help! I didn’t want to buy just any old nail polish because I don’t paint my nails very often and I didn’t want it to go to waste so I bought a pretty basic Top/Base Coat one as I don’t actually own one. This may help longevity and taking it off so I will get back to you for that. This was also the one thing I bought that wasn’t in the sale.

The final place I went was Boohoo. I had just ordered from New Look but the dress I’d ordered went out of stock before it could get sent to my house so I turned to Boohoo for my retail therapy! I don’t have too much from Boohoo but I genuinely love that website and their stock lasts so long, so yes I will be linking what I bought, you lucky people! I knew I wanted a winter dress (as that is what I ordered from New Look and had set my heart on) and soon I came across this dress:

Oh buddy! This is a bottle-green, long-sleeved swing dress and words cannot describe the love I feel for it! I might even wear it for my birthday with black tights and black heels! This is more evening than the dress I’d seen on New Look but I’m very OK with that. It has a slightly thin material but it is warm and very soft and my life is now complete! I love this colour for winter; I feel it really compliments me and I know come December I will wear this a lot for Christmas! Talking about Christmas again already, oh dear! This came in a range of colours and was also very affordable. I’m sometimes unsure of swing dresses because they can either be really flattering (especially for curvier girls) or hang off your boobs and make you look like you’re expecting triplets but this one has ticked all my boxes and I’m very happy about it!

And there we have it! The world’s biggest haul done! Let me know what you bought with your Christmas money if you did get some, or instead what presents you did get and are currently loving. I hope you have enjoyed this blog post as much as I have!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx

New Look and ASOS Haul

Good Afternoon Munchkins! I know this is very late on my schedule (the fact it’s late afternoon on a Sunday and I promised this about a month ago) but I have been very productive of my own accord today and with all this school stuff you kind of have to prioritise. Not that I’m saying this isn’t important because it is but it was kind of a prize after all the millions of hours on Skype (well, it felt like millions) trying to turn a triangle different ways. Anyway, sorry but I hope this makes up for it!

Basically what happened was I was given holiday money (this is how long ago it was!) and I didn’t spend it all so I spent it when I got back and I think my brother got something randomly so therefore I did too (it’s all fair in this game!).

The first place I decided to get some lovely stuffs was New Look. I bought all the things listed from the sale so I’m not sure if they’re still there and I’m sorry if they’re not. Also, I can’t remember the prices so I’m going to estimate.

This was the first top I saw on the website (loves a bit of internet shopping, I do!) and I’d seen it before and just thought ‘This is a now or never chance’ so grabbed it instantly. I think it was something like £3 or £4 but I love it so much. I’m wearing it now and as you can probably tell from the picture it is acid-wash (there is a link in these tops, sorry), coral-y pink (yes then) and palm trees (even more yes then!). It has all the things I look for and what it doesn’t really show is it’s really big and swing-y. I got it in 12 I think but its still really what I describe as ‘waterfall-y’. If you understand what that means, well done! It is though a vest top which me being me didn’t realise until I bought it. Oops!

The next top I bought is this plain burgundy acid-wash vest thing. Well described as you can tell! I’ve only worn this once but it’s so comfy and swing-y (but not waterfull-y) that it would suit literally anyone. This was £3 and wasn’t that much when it wasn’t in the sale but either way you get such good quality for that amount of money. But, unfortunately, you don’t get a cheeky Harry in the corner!

The last top I bought was this acid-wash (found the pattern now?) red Coca-Cola logo one. What is wrong with my descriptions today?! This was about £7 but I find that understandable being logo and all. I love this top and have wanted one like this for around a year or so now (I hope it hasn’t gone out of fashion now!) and I was so happy when I found it I was like ‘Come to Mummy’! Kind of like in Hocus Pocus I was the scary ginger one! Please tell me you’ve seen that film, I just love it! The only problem I’ve found with it so far is that some of the red comes off on my bra. It doesn’t stain but you know. Just something to bare in mind. This did make me think that some of the colour might come out in the wash but I don’t think it has.

The last thing I got from New Look was this skater skirt. I saw it and thought it was the prettiest thing and thought of loads of things I could wear with it and it was like perfection. Then I brought it home and tried it on. I’m only 5 foot tall. This is practically a midi-skirt on me. That isn’t a bad thing but it’s totally thrown me out so if you have any outfit ideas I’d love to hear them so that this poor thing doesn’t go to waste. I really don’t want to have it hiding in my wardrobe because it is so pretty. This again was £7 I think.

By this time I’d realised I’d practically bought a Summer wardrobe at the end of August. This is the main reason for my next 2 purchases.

‘A plain navy hoodie’ I bet you’re thinking. Yes, it is, but it’s the softest warmest hoodie going and goes with literally anything, I love it so much. Even Harry’s shocked, look at him! I bought this in the petite range and I’m glad I did because it makes me look more in proportion. You can’t really see the hood but there is one and it’s you’re everyday basic hood and a white zip and white tassel-y bits and yeah. The inside is so warm and snug and it’s like ‘Why would I need a coat ever again?!’. That is what it has made me think, ladies and gentlemen, this is a serious love affair! This was about £12 which is a bit more expensive than my previous items but it was so worth it.

The last thing I bought was these pair of skinny jeggings and again in petite. For petite these are very long. As it, giraffe-neck long. These are a bit small for me at the moment but they do stretch (well, they do now anyway!) and it’s like a target to be able to get into these jeggings. Very soft and about £12 I think. Around that. Sort of.

So that concludes my haul that I promised last month (again, I’m sorry). I did also promise a lookbook but I don’t think that’s likely to happen but to makeup up for it I’m going to blog quite a lot when I go on holiday in the October half-term about beauty and fashion things. As I say, if you have any tips for what to wear the skirt with do let me know either my emailing me or writing it in the comments below.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx

What I Wore To Dirty Dancing/Father’s Day

Good evening Munchkins. Yes, another weekday blog, I’m sorry but as always I will be uploading at the weekend as per usual.

As you may or may not know, one of my birthday presents this year was to go see Dirty Dancing live at a local theatre. It was so good, it was a bit funnier than the film but I think I prefer musicals life to be honest because then it’s as if you’re there and that just makes it all the more special. I have done two other ‘What I Wore . . .’ blogs which I will link below but to set the scene it was a matinee performance and it was traditional English weather: unpredictable. It rained a bit on the train there but by the end of the evening it was a really nice sunset. I went with Chummy C and my Nan even though my Nan wasn’t going in to watch it with us but she booked them and everything. She went shopping instead but took us to dinner afterwards which was really nice.

The main thing I wore was this denim dress from Primark which I bought recently when I went to the most amazing Primark in the world in Liverpool. Seriously, if you’re coming to the UK, just go there, it’ll take you all day anyway! It was £11 which is really good because they also had one at New Look and Asos but it was like £22.99 so half price and just as good quality. I don’t know how to describe the material, it feels sort of denim-y but like nice denim-y if you know what I mean. I’m sorry, I will try to find a thesaurus next time! This was the first time I wore it out and I can easily say it is one of my favourite Summer buys at the moment. The reason there are two pictures is because it has a zip all the way up the back and though for some people this would be difficult, I found it more of a ‘Challenge’ as it were. I managed to do it, my arms are like doll’s arms now, but I did it! Another amazing thing about Primark is that it doesn’t have a specified ‘Petite’ area or on the website or anything but everything I try on, say a Skater Dress, is the length of a Skater Dress. I know I sound really stupid saying that, but I’m only 5 foot so finding anything like that which fits and isn’t too long or anything is like a miracle. Primark saw me and all us other short ones coming. Also can I just say now, sorry for poor photo quality.

For shoes I wore my black Creepers which I seem to be wearing now than ever before. I know that now they’re called ‘Flatforms’ but when I bought them last year I called them Moon Boots or Creepers. I only wore them a few times last year but they go with this dress really well as well as some other things I like to wear which are new so they are really good. I got these from Asda for £11, same price as the dress which might seem a rip-off but Asda do really good quality shoes and clothing despite being just seen as a supermarket. Also, adds height!

The bag I took was the same bag I took to One Direction and is this bag from New Look which Chummy C got me for my birthday earlier this year. It’s black and leather or leather-type I’m not sure whether it’s real leather or not and I find these types of bags so helpful and practical while still looking very nice and festival-y. And before you say anything about the change in lighting, yes it is the same picture for the ‘What I Wore To One Direction’ blog post. And yes that means I’m lazy.

For my hair, Chummy did my hair in a French Plait then pinned it back and I had natural makeup. If you would like any tutorials on my hair or makeup I would love to do that for you so just let me know. Also, if you’re from or live in the UK you will realise that the day after (the Sunday) was Father’s Day so I did wear this on Father’s Day as well. I had my hair in a Halo Braid and there’s a video on YouTube of that so I’ll link it below but I’m still willing to do a tutorial of it myself if you would like that.

I think that’s everything so thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx

What I Wore To One Direction ’14

Good morning Munchkins! It feels so long since I last uploaded but for those that don’t know I’ll do a quick what happened.

I uploaded on Saturday as per usual and explained I wouldn’t be uploading Sunday. That’s because I went up to Wembley Stadium to go see One Direction live. Oh my God, words cannot describe. Both 5 Seconds of Summer (they were supporting) and One Direction were amazing. It was my birthday present and probably the best one I have ever received!! I would seriously recommend it to any fan, they are just perfect. I know your all going to be like, ‘Oh, but they took drugs’ everyone makes mistakes and it’s not like they were saying ‘Put your joints in the air’ it was the flash on our phones. Just saying. I am not trying to make people feel bad, but this blog post is what I wore and where I got it from sort of thing like the Joey Essex Meet and Greet all the way back in January. It still doesn’t feel real that I’ve seen them, it’s so strange just thinking about it.

First thing, I wore a dress from Boohoo which I bought with my birthday money and is one of the nicest dresses I think I own. Not many people were wearing dresses, but I liked it, so you know. It was £20 but it feels nice like the material is just really nice to touch as weird as it sounds. It’s coral which looks weird at the moment with my pale skin, but once I get a tan it should look better. As always I’ll leave all the links below, but Boohoo is probably one of my favourite online clothes shops to be honest. I know the picture isn’t amazing because it’s strapless and I couldn’t find a hanger that would make it look any better, but yeah. Coral, Boohoo, strapless, perfect!

When we first left I was wearing these Converses because although not the best with the dress I was travelling quite a bit before and after and didn’t want to be a cripple by the end of the night. These are just copies from Sports Direct I think though you can get them anywhere. I wear Converses all the time, they are just so comfortable and seem to go with everything. They are plain black because black goes with everything and as you will see in a minute everything else was black. As always, I wore my little black ankle socks because they are just a need in life to be honest.

Don’t worry, these are the shoes I actually wore when I was there. I am only 5 foot tall so I needed them to see as well as beauty! I was standing and in the middle so they were kind of needed seeing as everyone else there was like 6 foot tall. These are from New Look I think and were a Christmas present a couple of years ago so they do last a long time.

The last thing I have a picture for is the bag. I love bags, especially this one. Chummy C bought this for me for my birthday and it’s just a plain, black, leather-feel bag from New Look. It held everything we needed and was perfect for this kind of thing. They were really popular last year and this year it’s satchels, but for festivals or concerts I will always have one!

For my makeup I only wore natural because we were in a rush and wanted to be like ‘Natural Beauty’ type even though that probably failed from the word go. My hair, going for the ‘Natural Beauty’ theme, was a high ponytail which I always like doing because it shows the curls in my hair really nicely but gets the hair out of your face. It was a really hot day, so all of these did go with the weather, I wasn’t freezing. I wore the One Direction perfume Our Moment as well, just for the extra fangirling moments!

It was the Sunday so I didn’t go into school Monday but I got home at 2am so I was way too tired to do anything. And in case you want to know, my favourite songs are Happily, Strong, Something Great and Better Than Words. I know, how predictable!

If you would like to see more of these I would love to do them again so just let me know. This afternoon I’m going to go see Dirty Dancing at a theatre not far from me so I could do that for you if you want but tomorrow I’m doing a Father’s Day theme as that is when it is in the UK.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx
