Celebrity Outfit Dupe #2 | Zara Larsson

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you some bits and bobs I’ve found whilst trying to recreate a look I found on the very beautiful Zara Larsson. This was taken  earlier this month, I believe, when she featured on James Corden’s Late Late Show in America. By far, this is the hardest look to recreate despite looking the simplest, so I have a few options and variations depending on which parts of the look you like or what you feel most comfortable with!

So this is the picture I found:

zara-larsson-the-late-late-show-with-james-corden-in-la-april-2017-1_thumbnail

So as you can see, Zara opted for a very simple monochrome look, containing the strappy heels and peg leg/cigarette trousers (I always get them confused!) which are very on trend at the moment. I personally love these trousers on her; they look formal yet still slightly relaxed and the black waistband at the top really helps to accentuate her little waist. This suits her figure so well – her stylist should be very happy with him/herself!

You will also be able to see the very prominent and original print on her top, which I found so difficult to find alternatives of, hence why I chose two! The first one is from Wear All retailing for £12, which I hadn’t heard of prior to this blog post, so let me know if it’s trustworthy if you have bought from there before! I thought some of you may like this because it still has a very bold print but has the same straight neckline, meaning it’s not too flashy, but it can boost your boobs if that’s what you desire. The second is from River Island and costs £30, but I actually prefer the pattern of this one. I personally think it’s a little bit more flirty and the slightly scooped neckline is very much on trend right now. It also has spaghetti straps, meaning they can easily be hidden, just like Zara’s! This has to be down to personal preference because I couldn’t find an exact dupe!

Again, I had a bit of a nightmare finding the exact bottoms, which surprised me actually considering how on-trend they are! The first pair are from Topshop (originally Adidas) and retail for £26. These are very much leggings as opposed to trousers, but if you want that sporty-looking stripe down the side of the leg, this may be your way forward. I’m sure this is still totally fine to wear with either of the tops, but if you would prefer something much simpler, the peg leg trousers on the right may be for you. Also from Topshop, these cost £28 and have a much more relaxed fit. The differences from the image of Zara is that it hasn’t got the white stripe and it has a big, loose-tied bow at the front, which I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tear, so just bare this in mind! Again, this is down to personal preference, but I do think both pairs of trousers match both the crop tops really well. It’s okay to be a little bit adventurous sometimes!

new look 25.99pound

Finally, the shoes! The only thing I could definitely decide on! These are from New Look and cost £25.99, though they have a few variations depending on how many straps around the toes you want. I chose the one with 3 or 4 straps on each side because it looks like a few thick straps instead of one due to being able to see the skin in between slightly. These are a pretty statement pair of heels that I think would easily be worn time and time again, either to dress up a pair of trousers like in this instance or with a cocktail dress. The gold buckle also smartens it up quiet a lot! From previous wear, I can tell you that those ankle straps are very supporting, make walking in heels a lot easier and are definitely more reassuring to know that they won’t fall off!

And that’s it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I loved writing it and finding all the items for you! Although I wouldn’t always opt for a look like this, I really do like it on her and the combination of sophistication yet relaxation with the heels and loose-fitting trousers. Who knows, maybe I can finally step out of my comfort zone?! Let me know what you think of this look and which variations you’ve gone for!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Sunday,

Denim Shirt Lookbook | Spring 2017

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you some of my favourite outfits during Spring/Summer, featuring my much loved denim shirt. Last year, I literally lived in this from March all the way through to August, and I have a feeling I’m going to be the same this year! It’s slowly becoming a staple in my wardrobe once again, so I thought I would share with you some combinations I like to wear it with in Spring time. Just as a little disclaimer, this denim shirt was given to me by my Mum and was something she used to wear when she was younger, so I have no idea where it’s from! There’s probably loads of alternatives to this one, though, so please don’t be too disheartened.

17690052_997709753699587_254873710_n

On slightly cooler days, I may wear leggings and a normal length T-shirt partnered with my denim jacket. I’m sure I’ve featured all these clothes on here before, but it’s always nice to see how other people like to wear them! If it’s not already noticeable, this is mainly for casual wear. Going from top to bottom, the FRIENDS t-shirt is from Primark, the ‘Living For The Weekend’ top is from H&M and the Dan and Phil top is probably from Ebay!

17757814_997709673699595_21177001_n

On nicer, hotter days, I will choose to wear a crop top instead so that I’m not wearing too much material, but the denim jacket keeps me covered if there is a breeze (which there always seems to be when you live by the sea!). Again, I will wear leggings because it is still Spring in England! All of these tops are from New Look, (apart from the last one which is also from Primark) and I think the orange and grey looks most stunning against the blue of the denim jacket. How many of you were betting I would say that?!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing about clothes and fashion so please let me know if you have liked reading about it. Not very much to say but I did want to keep this mainly about the pictures and for you to use this as some inspiration. I will, of course, wear other things with my denim jacket, but these were my absolute staple outfits last year, and will continue to be so this year, I think. I can always write an updated one with Summer outfits later on in the year because I have a fair few of those as well, so just let me know on that one if you would like it.

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,

Bebe Rexha | Outfit Dupe #1

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I thought I’d write something a little bit different which I’ve wanted to write for ages! Being a young person in an age where your appearance is oh-so important to some (though that is something I would heavily argue with!), it can become impossible to keep up with the newest trends without entirely breaking the bank! Hence why I have created a new little segment on this blog where I find clothing dupes for well-known celebrity outfits! I am so excited for this, probably more than I should be! Fashion is something I’ve always been passionate about so this has been the most fun research I’ve ever done! For this first blog post, I will be writing about an outfit Bebe Rexha wore on the 30th of January of this year (slight time difference but this outfit is timeless!).

As you can see, it’s very much casual wear that’s livened up with the long-line red coat and it’s unique pattern. I can assure you now, that was the most difficult thing to find a dupe for but I think I found a good match! Also, I wasn’t sure whether she was wearing a choker or had a neck tattoo, but it was very unclear anyway in order to use it to find something similar.

boohoo 4pound

So the first thing I found was on Boohoo and was the very basic white vest top. Nearly everywhere sells a white vest top because they are such a statement and can be worn at any time of year with literally anything, but this was the most affordable one I found, and I know that Boohoo’s products are very good quality for money from past experience. The one Bebe was wearing was tucked into high-waisted jeans but I thought that this cropped one was a similar length and could also be tucked into jeans just as easily. It has the same spaghetti straps, meaning you could go as daring as her and go completely bra-less! This was only £4 and you can purchase it HERE.

topshop 42 pound

Of course for the jeans I had to turn to Topshop, who are absolutely renowned for the quality of their clothing! None of the ‘Mom Jeans’ I found had the rip in the thigh, they all seemed to be on one knee, so I had to consider the length, fit and colour when comparing it to what Bebe is wearing. These are cropped and fairly loose fitting around the legs (as Mom Jeans tend to be) and the mid-blue wash fits what she is wearing perfectly. They have almost identical buttons and fastenings, and appeared high-waisted on the model. They’re rolled up at the ankles as she has done, also. Being Topshop, they’re slightly more expensive than anything else I’ll show you, but I do believe a good pair of jeans never go out of style and so they should be a bit more of an investment. These retail for £42 and you can purchase them HERE.

new look 22.99 pound

Despite Bebe’s shoes appearing very wild and out-there, the metallic silver is very on trend right now and, luckily, New Look is here to fix our needs! I think they’re metallic silver in the picture of her but the reflection in front of her is also shown as black, but I’m taking it as silver! These are literally the exact same for a very small price as they have the buckle up straps, pointed toe and stiletto heel I can see in her picture. These help to liven up the look from just being a very basic daytime outfit to something a little bit more glamorous and, quite frankly, it looks like you’ve made a bit more of an effort! Mom Jeans always look good with these kind of shoes, so you cannot go wrong! These cost £22.99 and are available HERE.

boohoo 16 pound

Finally, the coat. As I mentioned earlier this was very difficult to find but Boohoo answered my needs! This is just a plain, deep red, long-line coat with a very sophisticated open collar and pockets, but it is the same style as Bebe’s, even if the pattern isn’t the same. Again, as I said earlier Boohoo’s clothing do not fail you at all and are for a very reasonable price. All I will say about it is that this coat in this colour (it does come in a couple of other colours) is very limited in stock right now, so if you want one, I’d go get one quickly! This is on offer for £16 and can be bought HERE.

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I have loved everything about it, so I hope it’s been helpful to you too! Let me know what you think of the dupes I’ve picked out and whether you’ve actually bought anything from this little list! I would be over the moon if you did!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,

Rachel xx

Collection Glam Crystals (Glitter Liner) in Glitz Review

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you my thoughts and findings when using the Collection Glam Crystals in Glitz. I was very kindly gifted this by one of my best friends for Christmas and it was very much loved over that period and even now! I think glitter liner is such a gorgeous alternative to a normal smokey eye on a night out and jazzes up a look a little bit (did I really just use the phrase ‘jazzes up’?!). Anyway, how did this one treat me and my eyes, all that considered?

17102003_979480945522468_809424504_n

I will firstly be talking to you about the packaging. Those who have been reading my blog for a while now will know how much I love a minimalist packaging! This comes in a clear plastic tube with a matching plastic lid. This does kind of emphasise how it’s a cheaper brand, but I don’t mind that too much because that means it’s really lightweight when travelling and there’s also less chance of it breaking when doing so. It’s a screw-off lid, so ensures there can’t be any leaks or spillages if it is done up correctly. The typography is in this curly, black font which I guess matches the ‘glam’ theme it’s giving, but it’s not really up my alley. Obviously it’s only typography and it doesn’t effect the product inside, but it might be important to some – you just never know! All of the important information is also clearly written around the tube. The colour name is on top of the lid on a sticker, which could come off but I think it’s pretty securely attached! Something I really like in terms of packaging with this product is the brush, which I know sounds really sad and boring but it’s important to me! This has a really fine yet flexible, bristled brush that can be used to create a really precised and gorgeous line of product. The tube is also fitted around the brush so I am reassured that the product won’t dry out too quickly (which is a massive fear because I know I won’t be using this everyday!).

There isn’t much of a noticeable scent with this product, nor would I expect one. The colour, though, is stunning! I’m quite lucky in that I have a natural skin tone so can wear gold and silver, but my everyday jewellery is silver so it matches that really nicely. I also think it looks like snow so was really fitting over the Christmas period, and it’s used a lot in pictures on Instagram of people wearing glitter cut creases (something I really want to try!). The other colours available are: turquoise, purple, blue, green, gold, navy, grey and aqua (judging by the pictures on the Superdrug website!).

17160498_979480968855799_1926754018_n

The product itself is that of a typical liquid eyeliner. It does feel quite wet when first applied and, when I put it over my normal black eyeliner, I do have to tip my head back to let it dry and not imprint in my crease. I think this is expected of a liquid eyeliner so I’m not too fussed, and obviously the thicker the layer, the longer it takes to dry. However, once dried, it is on and it stays on all day and all night! A few weeks ago I went to the theatre and wore it for 12 hours and I was walking a few miles in that time, yet it still stayed on! It was amazing! Unlike other products in which I would that then reveal to you it is the most difficult thing to remove and you need paint stripper to get it off, it actually comes off with my normal cleanser really easily without leaving glitter anywhere on my face! This is literally the most beautiful product, and there isn’t any actual coloured product, it’s just clear with silver glitter particles within it, which I much prefer to a metallic silver base colour. As it is mainly glitter based, it’s difficult to describe it as ‘pigmented’, or ‘not pigmented’, but all of the glitter remains throughout the day and doesn’t wear off or fall off at all. You also don’t find any glitter has fallen down your face throughout the day, either, and it applies easily onto any eye shadow formula. I think I’ve now covered everything on that point!

Finally, price and availability. As Collection is a drugstore brand, it is available from Boots and Superdrug and retails for £2.99. This is so easily accessible online and in-store, you can literally walk out your front door and find one! Also, that price point for such a gorgeous product is well worth it; I would actually be willing to pay more than that for a product of that quality! I think I will definitely be picking some more of these up because I just can’t argue with that price!

17125136_979480958855800_1834736914_n

Would I recommend it to you? Yes, absolutely! For a drugstore, very inexpensive product, I couldn’t ask for much more and I’m sure each and every one of you have the ability and accessibility to purchase one for yourself! As I mentioned earlier, they do come in a variety of colours, so if silver’s not for you, I’m sure one of their shades is!

And that’s that! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I have a few other reviews in the pipeline for you, so you can watch out for those if you did like this one! Don’t forget to let me know what you think of this product if you’ve used it or if I’ve now tempted you to get one for yourself!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Sunday,

Morphe VS. Makeup Revolution [Eye Shadow Palettes]

Good Afternoon Munchkins!

Today I will be chatting you through my findings whilst using the Morphe 35K palette and the Makeup Revolution Flawless Ultra Mattes palette, and the differences I’ve found between them. As a little bit of background, the Morphe palette contains (as you may be able to tell!) 35 eye shadows, which are mainly neutral, and contain a mixture of matte and shimmer shades. The Makeup Revolution palette, however, contains 32 entirely matte eye shadows in much smaller pans. This won’t be a full review on either palette (though if you would like that, please let me know and I can write that for you), it will just be ‘VS.’ between the two of them and pointing out their obvious differences.

So the first thing I’m going to be talking to you about is the pan sizes. I know to most this won’t seem like anything that interesting, but the difference is significant! In the Makeup Revolution palette, the pans are much smaller, meaning you do get less bang for your buck (I hate that phrase, but it fits!), but there are so many colours to choose from, I don’t think you’ll be missing out too much! I’ve had this for nearly a year and use it quite a lot for school and I haven’t hit pan yet, so it does last for a while. In the Morphe palette, my brushes literally swim in the pans! They are massive and I don’t know how I’m ever going to finish one eye shadow let alone the palette! I’ve only had this since Christmas so I wouldn’t expect to hit pan on it no matter what palette it was, but this is definitely going to last me a lot longer. At the same time, though, I think you do pay for the pan sizes you are given with both palettes.

16831592_971843359619560_1715125123_n

As I’ve already mentioned, the Makeup Revolution palette I own contains only mattes (though they do offer other palettes with shimmer shades) and the Morphe one contains a pretty even mixture of mattes and shimmers. The Makeup Revolution palette is quite pigmented and can last throughout a day where you’re not doing much, but the Morphe colours can literally go through natural disasters and a world war and still look just how you applied it earlier that day! They both contain relatively neutral shades (i.e. creams, browns, blacks) with the odd exception of a few pinks or blues along the way. Although the Morphe shades win on the pigment and longevity front, the Makeup Revolution palette does come with a sheet of clear plastic which has the eye shadows names on, something I really do appreciate when I’m writing blog posts. This does depend on your wants and needs in a palette, but I find that when the eye shadows are labelled, they’re much more practical when blogging.

Onto the packaging. As you can see, both are in a very minimalist black, plastic casing. The Makeup Revolution has a much glossier effect whilst the Morphe one has a matte, wipe-down finish (the irony), both of which are easy to travel with and I can wipe any spillages off of. Both also have the names of the brands imprinted on the front; the Makeup Revolution one in a gold, which has started to chip away slightly, and the Morphe one containing it’s usual white and red logo. They’re both click shut and, despite being smaller, I actually think the Makeup Revolution palette is relatively heavier than the Morphe palette. Also, it’s quite evident the size difference of both palettes – the Makeup Revolution palette is less than half the size of the Morphe one, making it much easier to travel with. In saying this, you could get away with only taking one of these palettes with you if you were to travel because they contain practically every colour you could ever need, particularly the Morphe palette. Something else which is quite stand out is that the Makeup Revolution palette comes with a mirror whilst the Morphe one doesn’t. This isn’t great for practical reasons, but I do have loads of handheld mirrors I could use in replacement of Morphe’s lack of mirror. Neither of these palettes come with a brush.

Finally, price and availability. The Makeup Revolution palette is available from Superdrug for £8. I personally find this a really reasonable price for a palette of so many colours which are of a decent quality, particularly for beginners. It’s also really easy to get hold of because it’s available in-store and online. The Morphe palette, in the UK, is only available online at Beauty Bay as of recently and retails for £21. This is much higher in price but you do get what you pay for and if you divide that price by the amount of eye shadows, it’s still less than £1 per eye shadow.

I love both of these palettes, though, and I think it would depend on the occasion as to which palette I would opt for. I think the Makeup Revolution palette is suited more to beginners or those who don’t wear makeup very often so just want one palette with everything in, whilst the Morphe palette is for collector’s or those who wear makeup more often (like myself).

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing ‘VS.’ blog posts so let me know what else you would like to see compared! Also, don’t forget to let me know which palette you prefer out of the two if you own one, the other, or both for yourself! Or, you can tell me which palette I have now swayed you towards if you own neither of them!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Tuesday,

Rachel xx

Pre-Birthday Haul; Superdrug and Primark

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you a few bits that I purchased just over a week ago now as a little pre-birthday treat with some money I received early. If I’d known how much I would get from friends and family this year (I was so lucky and I’m so grateful for that!), I probably wouldn’t have gone shopping but I still picked up some bits I needed and thought I’d just share them with you! This isn’t anything too exciting, but I thought I would still chat you through the little pieces I bought.

16923479_972500726220490_281411262_n

As per usual, I couldn’t resist the Primark that was there and had to go in there first! I was on a specific hunt for some lounge pants (random, I know!) and I definitely found what I wanted! The first pair I picked up was this Harry Potter legging-style lounge pant that was completely compulsory of me to get! This is a simple grey with the burgundy/deep red Harry Potter typography up the leg and on the waistband. The only thing I’d say if you were to get these for yourself is to size up because they do wear really small; I’m not sure why but just bare that in mind! I particularly like the waistband on this which is slightly elasticated and they just go with so many tops, meaning I can so easily chuck it on after school when I just want to chill. They’re also slightly fitted around the ankle meaning there is very little chance of me falling over! These were only £6, which you can’t really go wrong with! By the way, sorry that I lost the picture of the waistband, you’ll have to go by my previous description to know what I’m on about!

The next thing I bought in Primark was another pair of legging-style lounge pants, but instead with some New York lettering on it. Going to New York is one of the top things on my bucket list so I had to get them just to represent that! Again, these are plain grey with ‘New York’ written on the slightly elasticated waistband and ‘Brooklyn’ up the left leg, same as the Harry Potter ones. These were £5 – I don’t know why there was a £1 difference, but it’s still such a reasonable price that I can’t contend with! These may also need to be sized up, but they’re not as bad as the Harry Potter ones. I haven’t worn these properly yet, but I think they may be my favourite because of the comfort factor. I don’t think the writing on either of these will come off in the wash either because they don’t look like they’re stickers or anything like that.

The next couple of things I bought in Primark were a few pairs of socks. I love socks; I have no idea why, but they just really float my boat! Anyway, I’m also loving frilly socks at the moment and these warmer/darker colours so I thought I would buy a couple of pairs in burgundy and khaki. These were £2 each, which is so affordable considering there are two pairs in a pack, which will keep me going for a while! I just really like them for dressing up an outfit or chucking them on to wear with my Vans so the frilly bit is showing – they’re so effortlessly stylish and I just can’t get enough of them! These aren’t ankle socks, though, they can be pulled a little bit up the calf so they may not be ideal for some. I don’t mind, I just love the colour of them! They also had a few more colours available from what I saw.

16900060_971843172952912_1471082304_n

The last thing I bought in Primark was this little pack of brush/beauty blender cleanser wipe things. These really intrigued me and the box just contains 6 wipes which are supposed to clean your makeup tools so I will let you know how I get on with them. I was going to pick up a couple of boxes because they were on sale for £1 and there were loads there, but I didn’t want to spend my money on something that didn’t work. I’m just so lazy when it comes to cleaning my brushes, so if these work they could help me out so much! Again, super affordable and, potentially, very much time-saving and easy to use. I will write another blog post once I’ve attempted to use them!

16831526_971843202952909_72440196_n

Next I went into Superdrug and, once more, I was on a mission! For my last Drama exam I am applying makeup onto the actors in my designated group, so I needed to buy a face primer whilst I’m testing out my ideas and for the final performance in April. I had done my research beforehand and discovered the MUA Pro Base Smooth Set & Prime Primer, which I decided I was to get. This is a very lightweight product that only cost £5, which I don’t mind spending for my Drama portfolio. I’ve tried it on myself once, but I will do so again just so I can see the full effect of it, and I will be writing a review of it for you once I’ve used it a few times on the actor’s as well. I just find myself in quite a difficult situation of ‘I want to try the product out and see if it’s any good’ as well as ‘I want to keep it looking nice and new for the actor’s’, so it’s tricky, but it’s got a balmy-ish texture, so it’s not too noticeable if I’ve used a bit.

16839675_972500686220494_1351793226_n

The next thing I got in Superdrug was something else I’ve needed for a while and that is brow gel to set my eyebrows in place once I’ve filled them in. The one I was previously using I bought like 2/3 years ago, so I thought I was in definite need of an upgrade! As I was at the MUA counter I thought I would try out their Lash and Brow Clear Mascara because, for me, it’s not something that needs to be top quality in my makeup routine (unlike my foundation or eyeliner, for example) but I can’t complete my makeup routine without one! This was only £2 as well, so if it isn’t too great it isn’t money down the drain or a complete waste. Anyway, I will let you know how I get on with it!

The final thing I bought wasn’t something I needed, as such, but I’ve wanted one for such a long time and I’m so happy to finally have one in my collection! It’s the Tanya Burr Eye Shadow Palette in Fairytale. I picked this one up because I thought I would use these colours most in comparison to the little selection they had on offer, and it was one I was going to end up buying anyway. It contains 4 stunning neutral shades with the most gorgeous names – I just couldn’t resist it. I’ve received a lot of makeup recently so I really didn’t need this, but I wanted to test it out and I had the money on me, so thought ‘why not?’! This was only £6 so, again, it’s not money down the drain if it isn’t that great but I will let you know how I get along with it. I’ve tried her lip glosses before, though, and have been very impressed, so I do have high hopes for her palette! I’m literally so excited to try all this new stuff out!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls, so let me know what you liked from this mini one here. Also, don’t forget to let me know what you’ve bought recently or what trends you have been loving!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Sunday,

Boxing Day Sales Haul: New Look, Boohoo, Dorothy Perkins

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will finally be sharing with you all the things I bought during the Boxing Day Sales. I don’t know about you, but I genuinely enjoy and look forward to the sales after Christmas; it is something I get myself out of bed for and we actually do it as a family, so it’s a nice little trip for us! This year I was very lucky and received some money and vouchers which I spent as soon as the sales came out! Anyway, I will try to remember prices but there are some that there is no way I will ever know!

15934406_943517005785529_1500845601_n

The first place I went to was New Look. I think I’ve already thrown my receipt away but everything I bought came to £25 in total, as that was the voucher I had. The first thing I bought from there was this gorgeous khaki green choker neck top. I’ve already worn this for New Year’s Eve and it definitely caught people’s attention! Despite being long-sleeved, it is much more of a top as oppose to a jumper because it’s quite thin, but for a night out it does look stunning! It has a ribbed-like effect and a very low V-cut, which I personally like to show off my assets a little bit! I thought the choker would annoy me a bit because I’ve never worn one before but I think it’s one of those things you’ve just got to get used to.

15942107_943517035785526_593638084_n

The next thing I bought I’ve also already worn but it was the item I was most excited for! It’s this chestnut bardot top which is made out of a silk-like material, making it really shiny and quite easy to wipe things off of (which I need being the clumsy oaf I am!). I personally love the bardot style and this is something I could wear for everyday or dress up for the evening. It’s really lightweight and floaty, meaning it doesn’t matter what size I am or how much I’ve eaten, it will still fit and look really flattering. I also received a fair few compliments when I wore this out too, which always boosts the self-esteem slightly!

The penultimate thing I bought from New Look was this grey cross-cut style top with mid-length sleeves. It’s not ribbed like the first one but is the same kind of weight and thickness, so it’s not warm enough to be worn on it’s own at this time of year but it is still stunning, dressed up or down. I actually really like this style (though you can’t really see it, I’m sorry!) as I find it quite flattering but still very simple. It might make odd tan lines in the summer but I think it is more suited to these colder months! This and the khaki top are quite tight-fitted but if I was to tuck them into a skirt or high-rise jeans, I don’t mind too much!

The final item from New Look was another top (there’s a theme here!) which is, again, grey but with a black, lacy bardot detailing at the shoulders. This is a bit big for me and is much more of a jumper than a top but I do think this will mean I wear it much more for daytime. This is quite long, but I’m sure it can look amazing tucked into jeans and I’ve already planned to wear it slightly dressed up. This has a grey marl effect and is super soft but the lace just adds a little bit of style to it which dresses it up slightly. I really liked this and I’m sure it will be a timeless piece!

I then went onto Boohoo where a bit more money was spent! The first thing I bought (because I did need them, honestly!) was this pair of ribbed black leggings. You can’t really see the ribbed effect in the picture but they are just your average full-length leggings. These cost £6 and weren’t actually in the sale because I genuinely did need a new pair of leggings! I also bought the top in this picture which has a chequered red/black/white print. I thought it was just a nice little top I could wear for summer either with jeans/leggings or tucked into a skirt as it’s basically a cropped cami! It also includes a little bit of black (i.e. comfort zone) but introduces some colour, which I’ve been told I need! This is quite floaty and just hangs from the boobs but it is things like this that I live in during the summer! And for only £2, I couldn’t turn it down!

I then went ahead and purchased this gorgeous burgundy jumper. I don’t know if you can see it in the picture but it has slits in the sleeves, which is kind of a ‘cold shoulder’ effect, as the website told me! I really do like this and it is a thick-knitted material which I really like day-to-day though, again, I could quite easily dress it up (there’s another theme here!). I actually wore this to a college interview the other day because I do think it makes me look like a young sophisticated woman, when in actual fact the highlight of my life is getting a Chinese takeaway! It does have some black, woven inserts which, of course, I love and yeah, another staple piece that I think I will be getting my wear out of! This was only £8 and is quite short-cut, so is perfect for tiny little Rach!

The final two things I bought from Boohoo were playsuits that I literally want to die in, they are so beautiful! The first one is this black and grey chequered piece which would be perfect for January/February when you don’t know what to wear, but you know you want it to be nice! This is long-sleeved but still quite thin and finishes about mid-thigh on me. This is a bit out of my comfort zone before I’ve fully toned up again, but I think with my black vans and a pair of tights, it could look amazing for a meal out without looking too dressy. Like the very first top from New Look, this has a very low V-cut neckline and a slight off-the-shoulder type effect, though that might just be because I’m too small for it, and has a wrap-over thing which I think is very flattering should you want to present the assets in a much more sophisticated way than ‘here’s my tit’! It’s a super soft but stretchy material and, once I start toning up again, I’m super excited to get myself in this for an evening out! This was only £6.

The other playsuit I bought is much more suited to festivals and Spring/Summer, which I am hoping on doing this year (festivals that is, I think Spring/Summer goes without saying!). This is a rusty, peach-y toned playsuit with some black lace detailing at the neckline. This is a bit more difficult to get into because of the cold shoulder effect, but once it’s on it does look stunning! It has spaghetti straps at the shoulders and then much baggier sleeves going down to around the elbow which then cinch in. This is, again, mid-thigh but if I was to wear this for the warmer weather, I don’t mind that too much. I think this would be a bit too heavy for a holiday abroad (though for the evening it may be better) or August when it’s really hot but early Summer, I can see myself living in this. It is much less booby than the other playsuit, but it still allows a little cleavage to be shown. This cinches in at the waist much more noticeably, so I will need to lose a little bit more weight in order to feel 100% comfortable in it, but I am just so excited to wear this out! This retailed for £6, as well.

I then decided with some left over money that I wanted to buy myself a new bag specifically for when I start college in September. I figured now would be the best time as the sales are on and I actually have money so better earlier than later! Something that surprised me was I found this bag in Dorothy Perkins, literally the last place I looked! This is a really simple bag with a suede-effect flap over the rest of the bag which is magnetically shut. It doesn’t have a zip but it just means I would have to keep my phone in my pocket, which I do now so doesn’t bother me too much. It is, of course, black, so will go with everything and I love the difference of the materials used as it makes it look a little bit more alive! It has a long shoulder strap so I can just grab it and go, and is big enough to fit A4 files and papers in. It has a little bit of gold detailing at the magnet and where the straps join the bag, which, again, makes it seem a little bit more alive and less flat or 2D! This was in the sale for only £17 and they had another one but with a brown/fawn coloured suede flap instead of black, but I thought black would be much more practical!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls and I’m so happy I’ve finally been able to write one after what feels like forever! Let me know what you bought in these Boxing Day Sales if anything or what you thought of things I purchased for myself!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,
