Pre-Birthday Haul; Superdrug and Primark

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will be sharing with you a few bits that I purchased just over a week ago now as a little pre-birthday treat with some money I received early. If I’d known how much I would get from friends and family this year (I was so lucky and I’m so grateful for that!), I probably wouldn’t have gone shopping but I still picked up some bits I needed and thought I’d just share them with you! This isn’t anything too exciting, but I thought I would still chat you through the little pieces I bought.

As per usual, I couldn’t resist the Primark that was there and had to go in there first! I was on a specific hunt for some lounge pants (random, I know!) and I definitely found what I wanted! The first pair I picked up was this Harry Potter legging-style lounge pant that was completely compulsory of me to get! This is a simple grey with the burgundy/deep red Harry Potter typography up the leg and on the waistband. The only thing I’d say if you were to get these for yourself is to size up because they do wear really small; I’m not sure why but just bare that in mind! I particularly like the waistband on this which is slightly elasticated and they just go with so many tops, meaning I can so easily chuck it on after school when I just want to chill. They’re also slightly fitted around the ankle meaning there is very little chance of me falling over! These were only £6, which you can’t really go wrong with! By the way, sorry that I lost the picture of the waistband, you’ll have to go by my previous description to know what I’m on about!

The next thing I bought in Primark was another pair of legging-style lounge pants, but instead with some New York lettering on it. Going to New York is one of the top things on my bucket list so I had to get them just to represent that! Again, these are plain grey with ‘New York’ written on the slightly elasticated waistband and ‘Brooklyn’ up the left leg, same as the Harry Potter ones. These were £5 – I don’t know why there was a £1 difference, but it’s still such a reasonable price that I can’t contend with! These may also need to be sized up, but they’re not as bad as the Harry Potter ones. I haven’t worn these properly yet, but I think they may be my favourite because of the comfort factor. I don’t think the writing on either of these will come off in the wash either because they don’t look like they’re stickers or anything like that.

The next couple of things I bought in Primark were a few pairs of socks. I love socks; I have no idea why, but they just really float my boat! Anyway, I’m also loving frilly socks at the moment and these warmer/darker colours so I thought I would buy a couple of pairs in burgundy and khaki. These were £2 each, which is so affordable considering there are two pairs in a pack, which will keep me going for a while! I just really like them for dressing up an outfit or chucking them on to wear with my Vans so the frilly bit is showing – they’re so effortlessly stylish and I just can’t get enough of them! These aren’t ankle socks, though, they can be pulled a little bit up the calf so they may not be ideal for some. I don’t mind, I just love the colour of them! They also had a few more colours available from what I saw.

The last thing I bought in Primark was this little pack of brush/beauty blender cleanser wipe things. These really intrigued me and the box just contains 6 wipes which are supposed to clean your makeup tools so I will let you know how I get on with them. I was going to pick up a couple of boxes because they were on sale for £1 and there were loads there, but I didn’t want to spend my money on something that didn’t work. I’m just so lazy when it comes to cleaning my brushes, so if these work they could help me out so much! Again, super affordable and, potentially, very much time-saving and easy to use. I will write another blog post once I’ve attempted to use them!

Next I went into Superdrug and, once more, I was on a mission! For my last Drama exam I am applying makeup onto the actors in my designated group, so I needed to buy a face primer whilst I’m testing out my ideas and for the final performance in April. I had done my research beforehand and discovered the MUA Pro Base Smooth Set & Prime Primer, which I decided I was to get. This is a very lightweight product that only cost £5, which I don’t mind spending for my Drama portfolio. I’ve tried it on myself once, but I will do so again just so I can see the full effect of it, and I will be writing a review of it for you once I’ve used it a few times on the actor’s as well. I just find myself in quite a difficult situation of ‘I want to try the product out and see if it’s any good’ as well as ‘I want to keep it looking nice and new for the actor’s’, so it’s tricky, but it’s got a balmy-ish texture, so it’s not too noticeable if I’ve used a bit.

The next thing I got in Superdrug was something else I’ve needed for a while and that is brow gel to set my eyebrows in place once I’ve filled them in. The one I was previously using I bought like 2/3 years ago, so I thought I was in definite need of an upgrade! As I was at the MUA counter I thought I would try out their Lash and Brow Clear Mascara because, for me, it’s not something that needs to be top quality in my makeup routine (unlike my foundation or eyeliner, for example) but I can’t complete my makeup routine without one! This was only £2 as well, so if it isn’t too great it isn’t money down the drain or a complete waste. Anyway, I will let you know how I get on with it!

The final thing I bought wasn’t something I needed, as such, but I’ve wanted one for such a long time and I’m so happy to finally have one in my collection! It’s the Tanya Burr Eye Shadow Palette in Fairytale. I picked this one up because I thought I would use these colours most in comparison to the little selection they had on offer, and it was one I was going to end up buying anyway. It contains 4 stunning neutral shades with the most gorgeous names – I just couldn’t resist it. I’ve received a lot of makeup recently so I really didn’t need this, but I wanted to test it out and I had the money on me, so thought ‘why not?’! This was only £6 so, again, it’s not money down the drain if it isn’t that great but I will let you know how I get along with it. I’ve tried her lip glosses before, though, and have been very impressed, so I do have high hopes for her palette! I’m literally so excited to try all this new stuff out!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls, so let me know what you liked from this mini one here. Also, don’t forget to let me know what you’ve bought recently or what trends you have been loving!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Sunday,

Boxing Day Sales Haul: New Look, Boohoo, Dorothy Perkins

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I will finally be sharing with you all the things I bought during the Boxing Day Sales. I don’t know about you, but I genuinely enjoy and look forward to the sales after Christmas; it is something I get myself out of bed for and we actually do it as a family, so it’s a nice little trip for us! This year I was very lucky and received some money and vouchers which I spent as soon as the sales came out! Anyway, I will try to remember prices but there are some that there is no way I will ever know!

The first place I went to was New Look. I think I’ve already thrown my receipt away but everything I bought came to £25 in total, as that was the voucher I had. The first thing I bought from there was this gorgeous khaki green choker neck top. I’ve already worn this for New Year’s Eve and it definitely caught people’s attention! Despite being long-sleeved, it is much more of a top as oppose to a jumper because it’s quite thin, but for a night out it does look stunning! It has a ribbed-like effect and a very low V-cut, which I personally like to show off my assets a little bit! I thought the choker would annoy me a bit because I’ve never worn one before but I think it’s one of those things you’ve just got to get used to.

The next thing I bought I’ve also already worn but it was the item I was most excited for! It’s this chestnut bardot top which is made out of a silk-like material, making it really shiny and quite easy to wipe things off of (which I need being the clumsy oaf I am!). I personally love the bardot style and this is something I could wear for everyday or dress up for the evening. It’s really lightweight and floaty, meaning it doesn’t matter what size I am or how much I’ve eaten, it will still fit and look really flattering. I also received a fair few compliments when I wore this out too, which always boosts the self-esteem slightly!

The penultimate thing I bought from New Look was this grey cross-cut style top with mid-length sleeves. It’s not ribbed like the first one but is the same kind of weight and thickness, so it’s not warm enough to be worn on it’s own at this time of year but it is still stunning, dressed up or down. I actually really like this style (though you can’t really see it, I’m sorry!) as I find it quite flattering but still very simple. It might make odd tan lines in the summer but I think it is more suited to these colder months! This and the khaki top are quite tight-fitted but if I was to tuck them into a skirt or high-rise jeans, I don’t mind too much!

The final item from New Look was another top (there’s a theme here!) which is, again, grey but with a black, lacy bardot detailing at the shoulders. This is a bit big for me and is much more of a jumper than a top but I do think this will mean I wear it much more for daytime. This is quite long, but I’m sure it can look amazing tucked into jeans and I’ve already planned to wear it slightly dressed up. This has a grey marl effect and is super soft but the lace just adds a little bit of style to it which dresses it up slightly. I really liked this and I’m sure it will be a timeless piece!

I then went onto Boohoo where a bit more money was spent! The first thing I bought (because I did need them, honestly!) was this pair of ribbed black leggings. You can’t really see the ribbed effect in the picture but they are just your average full-length leggings. These cost £6 and weren’t actually in the sale because I genuinely did need a new pair of leggings! I also bought the top in this picture which has a chequered red/black/white print. I thought it was just a nice little top I could wear for summer either with jeans/leggings or tucked into a skirt as it’s basically a cropped cami! It also includes a little bit of black (i.e. comfort zone) but introduces some colour, which I’ve been told I need! This is quite floaty and just hangs from the boobs but it is things like this that I live in during the summer! And for only £2, I couldn’t turn it down!

I then went ahead and purchased this gorgeous burgundy jumper. I don’t know if you can see it in the picture but it has slits in the sleeves, which is kind of a ‘cold shoulder’ effect, as the website told me! I really do like this and it is a thick-knitted material which I really like day-to-day though, again, I could quite easily dress it up (there’s another theme here!). I actually wore this to a college interview the other day because I do think it makes me look like a young sophisticated woman, when in actual fact the highlight of my life is getting a Chinese takeaway! It does have some black, woven inserts which, of course, I love and yeah, another staple piece that I think I will be getting my wear out of! This was only £8 and is quite short-cut, so is perfect for tiny little Rach!

The final two things I bought from Boohoo were playsuits that I literally want to die in, they are so beautiful! The first one is this black and grey chequered piece which would be perfect for January/February when you don’t know what to wear, but you know you want it to be nice! This is long-sleeved but still quite thin and finishes about mid-thigh on me. This is a bit out of my comfort zone before I’ve fully toned up again, but I think with my black vans and a pair of tights, it could look amazing for a meal out without looking too dressy. Like the very first top from New Look, this has a very low V-cut neckline and a slight off-the-shoulder type effect, though that might just be because I’m too small for it, and has a wrap-over thing which I think is very flattering should you want to present the assets in a much more sophisticated way than ‘here’s my tit’! It’s a super soft but stretchy material and, once I start toning up again, I’m super excited to get myself in this for an evening out! This was only £6.

The other playsuit I bought is much more suited to festivals and Spring/Summer, which I am hoping on doing this year (festivals that is, I think Spring/Summer goes without saying!). This is a rusty, peach-y toned playsuit with some black lace detailing at the neckline. This is a bit more difficult to get into because of the cold shoulder effect, but once it’s on it does look stunning! It has spaghetti straps at the shoulders and then much baggier sleeves going down to around the elbow which then cinch in. This is, again, mid-thigh but if I was to wear this for the warmer weather, I don’t mind that too much. I think this would be a bit too heavy for a holiday abroad (though for the evening it may be better) or August when it’s really hot but early Summer, I can see myself living in this. It is much less booby than the other playsuit, but it still allows a little cleavage to be shown. This cinches in at the waist much more noticeably, so I will need to lose a little bit more weight in order to feel 100% comfortable in it, but I am just so excited to wear this out! This retailed for £6, as well.

I then decided with some left over money that I wanted to buy myself a new bag specifically for when I start college in September. I figured now would be the best time as the sales are on and I actually have money so better earlier than later! Something that surprised me was I found this bag in Dorothy Perkins, literally the last place I looked! This is a really simple bag with a suede-effect flap over the rest of the bag which is magnetically shut. It doesn’t have a zip but it just means I would have to keep my phone in my pocket, which I do now so doesn’t bother me too much. It is, of course, black, so will go with everything and I love the difference of the materials used as it makes it look a little bit more alive! It has a long shoulder strap so I can just grab it and go, and is big enough to fit A4 files and papers in. It has a little bit of gold detailing at the magnet and where the straps join the bag, which, again, makes it seem a little bit more alive and less flat or 2D! This was in the sale for only £17 and they had another one but with a brown/fawn coloured suede flap instead of black, but I thought black would be much more practical!

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls and I’m so happy I’ve finally been able to write one after what feels like forever! Let me know what you bought in these Boxing Day Sales if anything or what you thought of things I purchased for myself!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you Thursday,

Rachel xx

Primark & Select Haul | Summer 2016

Good Afternoon Munchkins!

Today I will be showing you the few bits and pieces I picked up earlier in the week whilst out shopping in Primark and just a little bit in Select. I know I uploaded a blog post on Tuesday saying how I don’t write hauls enough so just to contradict myself, I thought I would end the week with one! I did go with a purpose as oppose to just mooching around and (as I’m sure you’ll agree) I actually spent my money pretty well considering I’m a teenage girl with an addiction to Primark shopping!

The first thing I picked up in Primark (and was my main intention) was this little pyjama set for the grand total of £6. I’m going on holiday in the next couple of weeks and something I quite like to do is buy even just one new item of clothing for it so that I can look forward to the holiday instead of feeling anxious so new pyjamas were obviously a must – especially as their Alice and Wonderland themed! I did want to buy a set with leggings and a top but I didn’t have enough money for that and everything else I bought and they didn’t have any Alice ones so shorts and a vest it was! Anyone who owns a pair of summer Primark pyjamas will know that their shorts are ridiculously short so I bought it in XL which I think is 18-20 and I’m normally a 12-14, so these will definitely be hanging off me! I did try on a size L and didn’t like how it fit on me so obviously the bigger the better. This just has a basic striped vest top (which is quite baggy now I’ve bought it so big!) with a little Disney cartoon Alice and in gold glitter above her it says ‘Off To Wonderland’. The little shorts have a white background and little black items that are relevant such as a pack of playing cards or the little symbols you get on playing cards and things like that. They were just too cute and as soon as my friend pointed them out to me I was nearly crying. I am that obsessed with Alice and Wonderland! And for £6, you can’t go wrong, really! I’m also loving the monochrome theme – it’s me in a set of pyjamas!

I then had to buy myself a new pair of little basic black pumps because the ones I already owned were starting to get old and scuffed and all horrible things like that. I basically repurchased the exact same pair I already own and for £4, I was not turning them down! These are so cheap but my previous ones lasted around 18 months and I wear them all the time, all year round – they just go with everything! These are just a pair of black pumps with no heels at all with a fabric-y type material covering it. I love these shoes and I think they are a must for every girl who needs a pair of ‘chuck on’ shoes!

The next thing I purchased was this really cute pair of vintage style sunglasses for £2 (which I’m modelling in the sun for you now – sorry for the tiny picture!). I’m short-sighted, meaning I wear glasses all the time anyway and had put off buying sunglasses for a long time because I just thought ‘whats the point?’. I then learnt that without wearing sunglasses, the skin around your eyes can age quicker and I know I’m only 15, but wrinkles already scare me! Hence these beauties appearing in my life! I love these – they fit my head perfectly (I have a pretty small head) and despite having quite a large frame (which I’ve been told I suit, anyway!), they still suit me pretty well. They are in a matte, shell-nude type colour that I think will go with everything and the frame is kind of cat-eyed and reminds me a bit of Audrey Hepburn (I have no idea why). I think these might just be a timeless pair of sunnies that will work next summer as well as the rest of this one. The actual lenses have a kind of gradient type of effect as they get lighter towards the bottom of them which is good for when you’re looking down and reading or just generally doing something that doesn’t involve your retinas being burnt. I just really really like them!

Right, last time I did a Primark haul I shared a piece of underwear with you and I think I spoke about how much I love novelty things and Primark is clearly the place for that! So, again, I decided to pick up a pair of knickers with a grey/charcoal background and little white cat faces on. There is also a really cute turquoise, glittery button on the front but it’s just for show instead of anything actually practical. Once more, there is a story. We were just wandering around the pyjama and underwear section (for obvious reasons) and my friend saw these and was like ‘They look like Dan and Phil!’. That’s enough for me to buy them and wear them on places Dan and Phil probably shouldn’t be. But yes, I love new underwear and I love Dan and Phil and £1.70, I couldn’t turn them down! I always love the way Primark underwear fits, as well; it’s just so comfy!

The final thing I bought from Primark was a little present for my Mum because she’s lovely and deserves a little something from us (whether that’s ‘us kids’ or ‘us adopted daughters’ i.e. my friends!). I did buy her a Pina Colada lip balm because why not? She loves Pina Colada (something no one could ever blame her for) and she loves lip balm! Myself and my grandparents had also bought her some Prosecco flavoured lip balm recently so it added to her alcoholic lip balm collection (such a common hobby!). This was from the P.S. Love… collection (Primark’s own beauty range) and smells so strongly of Pina Colada that I’m tempted to use it myself! It’s a bit of a Barbie pink colour in the tin but is applied very sheer. This was only 80p.

The last place I went to and the very last thing I bought was from Select and is this little cami peplum top. I obviously had to buy it in black (why would I even look at the other colours?) but I’ve wanted a top like this all summer and now I finally have one to my name! This was in the sale for £1.99 and so there weren’t many sizes available but I managed to find it in a 14 which makes it even flowier and therefore comfortable to wear. I think with blue jeans this could look effortlessly beautiful and it just looks so pretty on but it’s so comfy. I’d been in Select before but never actually bought anything so I’ll let you know how this wears but this is so soft and I really can’t wait to put it on my body! This is cami meaning it has quite thin straps but for my bigger-chested Munchkins I have found the answer – wear a bra of the same colour with it! I think this works better with black clothes because black bra straps can blend in a bit better and even look a bit trendy but it keeps your modesty in tact and doesn’t make it obvious. I just thought for £1.99 it doesn’t matter if I only wear it a few times and it’s just so lovely! Much excite for this one! I also feel like when I wear it I look like a sophisticated, well-put-together young woman when in fact I’d just bought this for a couple of quid in a sale.

And there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed this blog post – I love writing hauls! Let me know what you’ve been buying recently or what you liked from this little selection that I picked up. Also, let me know what you think of Select clothing if you have any yourself! My friends are trying to reassure me but I still have that first time buyer anxiety!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,

The World’s Biggest Birthday (& Easter) Money Haul 2016

Good Evening Munchkins!

I would just like to point out that this blog post is being written over time as my birthday was in February and this is not being uploaded in February (as you may have guessed). If the tense or whatever seems a bit wrong or odd in places, it’s because I’ve literally written around the time I purchased the items in this haul. Basically, just expect a load of reviews once this has been uploaded that I’ve saved up for months on end! Also, by the time I had spent the majority of my birthday money, it was Easter and I got very lucky by receiving money from that as well so I decided to write a huge collective haul for you. Enjoy the blog post!

Today I will be sharing with you what I bought with my birthday money. I feel like I do this a lot with Christmas money or whatever, and this is collective so please don’t hate me! Also, don’t think I’m showing off or anything, I’m genuinely not, I’ve just been very lucky this year with the amount of money I’ve received. I’m also one of those people that has to make sure they totally love something until they buy it. Yep, I’m super annoying to shop with! Anyway, I’m going to stop rambling, I’ve been to many a place for shopping and sorry this took so long to upload! This is going to be a super long haul as well, so I do recommend a hot beverage of your choice as we go through with this!

One thing I received for my birthday was a £10 voucher for Primark from my Mum. I love Primark and it’s kind of a running joke between us that I thought Primark vouchers were fake or didn’t exist as Primark is so cheap anyway. That’s basically the reasoning for this present! I spent this I think a week after my birthday and let’s just say, I got my money’s worth!

The first thing I picked up was this top and yes, it was from the £1 section. What can I say, it’s a guilty pleasure! Don’t knock it ’til you try it, as they say! This is my second top from the £1 section and they have both been in such good quality, I have no idea why it was only a pound. I fell in love with this top because of the colour (I feel like rusty reds really compliment my hair colour) and I love tops with words on, I have no idea why. I also have an addiction to day tops and literally live in them. They also have slightly rolled sleeves which I think looks nice on my big old bingo wings! This goes with leggings and blue jeans (as I’m wearing in the picture) and I just love it. It hangs nicely, it’s so comfy, there isn’t a bad word I could say about it!

The second thing was this Alice in Wonderland coin purse. I love Alice in Wonderland. Literally, love as in could-in-no-way-compare-to-my-unborn-children-love. They must’ve had an Alice in Wonderland collection in stock as there were also bags and tablet cases and all sorts. This was £3 which is pretty cheap for a purse and I would pay any amount for an Alice in Wonderland purse. It’s like a fake leather type material with the little metal clasp at the top and I’ve now decided to use it for school lunch money as it can hold all my coins and it’s also compact enough to fit in my blazer pocket. It’s also black and white, which I love (monochrome is my thing) and I love it way too much! I will literally use this until it breaks, then I will keep it just because it’s Alice in Wonderland.

The last couple of things are pretty *personal*, but I’m going to go for it. I trust you guys. I bought a sports bra. I know. I’m sorry. One thing I received for my birthday was the Charlotte Crosby 3 Minute Bum Blitz after I’d nagged for it for ages but I have boobs that are slightly on the larger side, so unless indescribable pain was my choice whilst working out, I needed a sports bra. I decided to get one from Primark because if I decided to stop working out for any reason, it wouldn’t be a lot of money wasted (they’re so expensive!). This one was £4 and they all value for around that, which I think is good if you are in a similar position to me. This one is orange, so of course I had to have it! It also has little air holes for your sweat to escape (I really just want to leave you with that thought! Ewww!) and it has like a bra clasp at the back but it doesn’t really do anything, I can slip the entire thing over me and it’s on. It also has a racer back, I think it’s called, for that extra support. If you want, I will do a little fitness blog post with my progress, providing there has been some!

The last thing I bought from Primark  was these pair of knickers and they were Reese’s. I’m going to be honest now, I wouldn’t have included a really raunchy pair of knickers on my blog, but I had to include these and they’re not on me, so I guess it’s OK! Basically, I love Reese’s, the American chocolate with peanut butter in. It’s amazing, I’m telling you! So, what better way to establish my love than by wearing it on my bum. Yep, I went there. They’re really comfy and I feel like I will be wearing them a lot, considering no ones going to see them or anything! Also, they’re mainly orange! Taking a picture of this and the sports bra was so difficult, will not be doing it again soon! This was £2.50, so I did go over by 50p but I’m fine with that.

The next place I went was Claire’s. I only bought one thing from there but I really really really liked it, so I thought I’d share it with you. And, of course, there’s a story. I’ve been wanting to get my cartilage pierced (the top of the ear) for ages, but I hate pain, it’s a lot of money, my ears tend to react badly with most earrings and I won’t be allowed it in school so I have been looking for a pair of fake ones that I like for ages. Thought I’d pop into Claire’s, have a look, see if they had anything I liked and then I found these. How beautiful?! This is a set of 3 blue/turquoise toned rose earrings (plastic) with a silver chain. Yeah, buddy. It also has the matching stud so I won’t have one lonely ear. I have my lobes pierced and you will need that for these earrings, but it’s just a cuff for the top bit and I really like how it looks. This was £5.50 for the set of the 3 and I think that’s really good value, if you ask me. It is worth hunting around in Claire’s as they do have some nice jewelry in there for a very small price. Most of my everyday jewelry is silver as well so the chain will match that perfectly. There was also the same set but with white and pink roses instead of the blues if you would prefer that. I did briefly talk about this in a blog post a little while ago about my Makeup, Fashion and Hair Staples, so 12 points if you remembered and checked this blog post for the pictures or you just remembered in general.

On a general day, I popped into Tesco with my friends (can I also point out this was the most beautiful spring day ever and walking by the sea was actually a treat!) and saw that they had a sale on Simple skincare. Note: always look in supermarkets or ‘unorthodox’ places to find really good deals on decent brands. I hadn’t used much Simple before so thought I would take they’re offer (3 for £5, yes you read it right!) seeing as I probably won’t find it anywhere else. Can I also point out each of these at RRP are £3.99 and I got them all for a fiver. Yep! Loving it! The first thing I picked up was the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Water. I thought that I could try this out to remove my makeup and compare it with my Garnier one (expect that blog post soon!) and if it doesn’t do anything good to my skin, I still have my Garnier one. Life is about leaving your comfort zone though, so this should be a good step for me!

I also bought the Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser (which Shani Grimmond uses, can I just point out?!) and the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. Yes, I bought two moisturisers. I don’t actually use (or before this anyway) a moisturiser, I would just use a body lotion or something before putting on my makeup that ‘would do’. Now, I’m all moisturised up (out of context, that could sound really dodgy!). I also thought I could compare these two and as it’s going into summer I may prefer the light one but on colder days the rich one will be my best friend. I wish I could say I was sorry but I’m actually not! I’m really chuffed! I also feel like I’m doing something for my age group as Simple’s main demographic is younger people (thought I did see some anti-ageing products for more mature skin though!) whereas before I haven’t really and haven’t been concerned about the welfare of my skin. I will be reviewing and comparing these also.

On yet another shopping trip (on a particular day where I had gone shopping with my friend and on the way back my Step-Mum’s car broke down so we went to shop in the town there!) I went into H&M. I think I mentioned this sometime last year how I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with H&M; I can go in there and find everything I’ve ever looked for or I can go in and hate everything. This time, it was a bit of a mixture but I did find this top which I love. For once (in my life, name that Stevie Wonder song) I didn’t buy an item in the sale section! I found this top and thought ‘this is literally my top’ and for only £6.99 I couldn’t turn it down! This is a basic, grey, everyday top that in black writing (typewriter writing, to be precise) says ‘living for the weekend’. Umm, yes, hello, I’m over here! One of my best purchases, if you ask me. I’m sorry for the picture quality but this is going to be worn non-stop. It’s also really soft and grey just seems to be my colour at the moment, anything grey is immediately mine! It’s kind of cropped but you know what, I’m fine with that!

The second thing I bought from H&M was this flower crown, only it’s not a crown, it’s more of a headband. I think this summer I’m going to try and wear these as I received an orange one for my birthday (in hairband form) and the colours of the flowers on this one are so gorgeous and look stunning with my hair colour. They’re a simple magenta colour and it goes with a lot of things (you’d be surprised) and I feel like this would be a really simple but nice way to accessorize an otherwise boring outfit. I like the leaves on it as well as it makes it look a little more realistic, not that I’d want an actual plant in my hair but yanno. The actual band on it is nude as well so if it isn’t hidden by my hair it should blend into my neck (in theory). I found this in the sale section and it was only £2. Yes, I know, the bargain genius over here! I adore it and even if I wear it only a few times I would’ve gotten my moneys worth. I don’t understand why it’s in the sale section though if I bought it in the months leading up to summer.

The next place I went was Paperchase. This was the shopping trip that popped my Paperchase cherry (sorry for that disgusting image!). I know, I can’t believe I hadn’t been in one either! Obviously I’d heard of it and the little writer in me had wanted to go in there for ages but for some reason I just didn’t. Until this shopping trip. And I found this notebook. This is an A6 (I think, it is tiny!) notebook with the Eiffel Tower on it but it’s been edited to look like a Polaroid and there’s a thin piece of film over the entire notebook so it feels like when you flip old Polaroid pictures. I love vintage and at some point in the summer my grandparents are taking me for a short break to Paris so I thought this would be perfect to take with me and write little things in there about my time there or use it as a scrapbook and put things in there from Paris. It also has ‘je’taime’ written on it which (I think) means ‘I like’. You’d think after studying French from the ages of 4-13 I’d remember something! I’m just really looking forward to using it. It’s quite thick so it may have to run over more than one trip to Paris (I’m imagining it being my second home once I get there!). I’m so excited! I’ve only ever been to France once in my life and that was Disneyland Paris. I don’t think that really counts. Obviously I will blog about it as well, don’t you worry! This tiny little notebook cost me £3.50 which normally I would think twice about as it is so tiny but I know it’s good quality and I’m going to fill it with memories I can enjoy for the rest of my life. How cheesy!

Once my Step-Mum’s car had broken down (which I’m kind of blaming myself for, but that’s a story for another time), I found a Superdrug and at this point in time, Superdrug had an offer on Maybelline products (buy one item, get the second half price). You know what I’m like when it comes to a deal, I just can’t turn it down! The first product I bought was the Maybelline Lash Sensational but I chose the Waterproof one because, as my friend pointed out, this is England. It rains, it’s windy and sometimes we stay up way too late! In all fairness, my current mascara is starting to get clumpy so I will need a new one anyway and everyone’s been raving about this one so I thought ‘why not?’. This was £7.99 which I personally think is a bit expensive for a mascara, but if it’s as good as everyone says then maybe it is worth it (the waterproof and non-waterproof one are the same price). I will report back and probably write a review once I’ve tried it out because we all know how much I love my reviews! I very nearly bought this in the first shopping centre we were in but it wasn’t sealed so it could’ve dried out before I got to try it, which is literally my worst nightmare. Yes, I did go to different shops to find the right mascara that was sealed! Better safe than sorry!

The second product I bought (the one that was half price) was the Maybelline Colour Show 60 Second Nail Polish in 677 Blackout. I needed a new black nail polish as my current one was starting to go a bit ming-mong and as there was a deal I was not turning it down. The RRP of this is £2.99 so I only had to pay like £1.50 which for a Maybelline product is really good (£2.99 is as well actually). I just picked this up because I needed a new one and this was there. I did want to get a Barry M one because I love those nail polishes, but next time I will. There’s always a next time!

On yet another separate occasion, I had another quick look around my local Primark and picked up a couple more bits (I feel like it’s still fair though as new collections had come in, including Batman VS. Superman, my life is complete! I even scared the cashier by demanding a huge bag for these two items as it had the logo on. I’m sorry now-socially-anxious-Primark-cashier). The first one was this F.R.I.E.N.D.S logo top and I’ve been wanting one of these for literally ages now but they haven’t suited me or didn’t have my size or I didn’t have the money so I just bought it. This one is grey and has the black trimming on the neckline and arm…holes? This is another trend I really like. I love F.R.I.E.N.D.S so much and used to be able to recite the episodes word for word. This is just memorabilia from that stage of my life I think. I did have to buy this in a 16 though (my usual size range is 12-14) because I hate having tight sleeves and I knew that would be the case with a top like this. Also it’s super baggy now, another fave of mine! This was £6 and probably my favourite £6 spent! They seemed to have a whole F.R.I.E.N.D.S collection there with a range of t-shirts, so it may be worth checking it out. I chose the grey one because everything in my life is grey at the moment. I have no idea why.

The second thing I picked up was this gorgeous little playsuit. I bought a playsuit last summer (I didn’t mention it because it was around the time I had a break from blogging) and ever since have been searching for another, and I found it. At the moment Primark have a lot in so, as I said before, it’s worth checking out. This one was only £5 and some were £10 so obviously I went for the cheaper, more prettier option! This is very different to the one I already own (I’ll probably include it in a blog post at some point) with the dark colours and the kind of Aztec-y pattern. It also has spaghetti straps so strapless bras from here on in! I’m really into dark colours at the moment and livening the look up with bright makeup or accessories (see hairband above) so this was a no brainer. You know when you see something on a manikin and immediately go on like a Sherlock Holmes type mission to try and find it. Yup, that’s what happened here! This also sinches in at the waist (which I like very much) and has drawstrings around the  middle to tighten to your desire. That sounds very odd out of context. I did buy this in a 14 so it would be slightly baggier because, as you can probably tell, I hate things being too tight, especially in summer. This is also really lightweight material and you could get away with on holiday or just on a very hot day here in England. I also felt very fat when I bought this, otherwise I would’ve got the 12. I’m so excited to wear this!!

I then went into New Look, somewhere I had surprisingly not touched yet; I had been into several but not found anything until this trip where I found the most gorgeous dress. I realise I say that a lot but it seriously is! This was also in the £5 off section though more than that was taken off the original price. It was this gorgeous black and white midi dress *exhales deeply*. I’ve been wanting to try midi dresses and skirts for a little while now but considering I’m the same size as a hobbit, it’s very difficult to find something that will flatter and not drown me. This one was £10 (just hold me!) and the actual price of it was £20, I think, both of which are very good prices for this dress. This has spaghetti straps and one of those necklines that is kind of in a V-shape but not and makes your boobs look amazing! The bottom of the dress (between the white stripes) is kind of a mesh material which I really like and it comes to my knees or just past them. I’m planning on taking this dress to Paris when I go with my grandparents for the evening and I know that it will look stunning! I can’t tell you the material because I don’t know it but it feels like a decent sort of material that will last me a long time! The straps are also adjustable if you need them longer or shorter. The material is quite heavy, especially around the skirt, but this is definatley a summer dress, I can assure you! I just need to find the perfect shoes to go with it! This was from the Cameo Rose collection.

The final thing I bought with my birthday money was a new can of Batiste. Through this time, I had run out and Superdrug had an offer on the day I went in to buy some more so of course I had to take it up! I think it was all half price but some were still more expensive than others. I decided to choose a different scent from last time (which was Tropical and I loved because it smelt like Pina Colada) and so I bought the one in Fresh. Also, the can looked so cute; they have fairly recently changed the packaging and some do look a bit too garish for me so this was perfect. I haven’t smelt or used it yet but I will report back when I have! As this was half price, this only cost me £1.48 for a huge can (200ml). Look for them deals, that’s all I’m saying!

The final (!) place I went, which will be unsurprising for most of you, was Primark. I’m sorry, I did not anticipate how often I was going to go spend money there! Anyway, this was where I spent my Easter money and I’m really happy about it! I did go there (or into town in general) on a mission and I came away victorious (now have Panic at the Disco stuck in my head, brilliant. Though that song always reminds me of the Saturday’s song Notorious, just because they rhyme. The logic is in there somewhere). The reason for my trip was to find a pair of heels to go with my new dress (see above) as the only heels I own are boot-like and therefore winter-y whereas this dress is quite clearly for the summer. I found these beauties for £10 and I’m very happy with them. I was at first disheartened on this trip as I found the perfect pair of heels in New Look within my price range but they were a size 6 and I’m not. Sad times. Anyway, I found these black heels which are made of a black fabric type material (you’d think after being obsessed with Gok Wan for the past 10 years I’d know what I was talking about by now!) and has a buckle up band around the ankle which can be tightened or loosened as you wish. These are very basic but I feel like I will get a lot of wear out of them. Also, I wasn’t and am still not sure what Paris is like to walk on so went for a slightly smaller heel than my eye first caught. I’d say these are around 3 inches and I can actually walk in them! The toe part of the shoe is rounded and gives a very cute finish to a look. I can’t wait to wear them with so many outfits! I’ve only just noticed they’re in the wide fit section of Primark so that should also help in terms of comfort. *cheeky One Direction poster in the background*

The final thing to this haul (I feel like I’ve been on a journey with this blog post!) is this gorgeous, deep green midi skirt. As I think I’ve already mentioned, I’ve been wanting to try midi-length for a while and when I saw this I knew I needed it! I’m planning on wearing it at the end of the month and I think it will still go with the time of year. It’s quite a Christmas-y green but is also very lightweight so I think it would suit the occasion. This was in the sale and on the tag said £5 but when I went to the cashier she told me it was £3. Even better! The black band at the top is elasticated which helps with comfort and I actually chose to buy a size 14 (I tried a 12 and 14) because my friend told me it looked more flowy which, in my opinion, this type of skirt should be. This has an opaque green underskirt and then a sheerer layer of green over top which helps to create this flowy effect. If I lose weight (which was a worry for me) I do know someone who could adjust it for me as breathing in now makes it hang off me. I don’t know why I told you that! I think this would look stunning with the heels as well. I can’t wait to wear this and if you would like to know, I can show you how I wear it for my night out. Sorry for the bluriness of this picture; in order to get the full skirt in I had to go on tip toes and I have the same amount of balance as a walrus so I was shaking a lot!

And there we have it! Oh-me-oh-my this has been a very long haul! Just for the record, I starting writing this around the 20th of February and as I type these words it’s the 5th of April. I can now breath a little bit more! If you’ve read until the end, 39 points! Also, a massive congratulations! Let me know what you’re favourite things from this haul have been, what you’ve bought recently or what you would like to see more of. That was a lot of money spent, but I think we can all agree it was spent wisely! Will definitely have to wait a long time for the next haul! I think from this we’ve all learnt that I love Primark and a good ol’ sale! I’m kind of in denial that this over, really; I’ve loved writing this blog post. Anyway, as least I can move on to other aspects of my blog!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx

Mother’s Day Haul 2016

Good Evening Munchkins!

For as long as I can remember on this blog I have been telling you my ideas or what I’ve bought my Mum for Mother’s Day as it’s tended to link to beauty or just been able to give you ideas. Hence this blog post! I just thought I would show you the things I bought the Mother for this special day. I also have a Step-Mum this Mother’s Day so I will be telling you what I bought her as well. Sunday is literally going to be Christmas in our house! Along the way I’m going to tell you little deals you can get as that’s literally my way through life. Just try and guess what the total of all the presents was and at the end I’ll tell you how much I spent in total, including 2 cards. Don’t forget the cards. Because of this, I won’t be telling you the prices of each individual item. What a fun game to play, woohoo! Just a little disclaimer, I have spoilt my Mum so don’t feel bad but as I said, everything I bought was very cheap (but good quality, in my opinion!).

The first place I went to was Wilko’s. You can say what you want about Wilko’s, I love it. I don’t know any kind of American equivalent, but it’s basically a shop that has everything and for a pretty reasonable price. My idea this Mother’s Day was to make a hamper. This is what happened.

One thing to think of when you’re on a budget like moi, is to look EVERYWHERE. And I mean it when I say EVERYWHERE  in block capitals. I found this little basket (label said ‘caddy’) in the bathroom section and I knew it was what I wanted. It has purple stripes (there will be a theme of purple, I’m sorry), is of the smaller size they offered and was really affordable. I know that my Mum will get a lot of use out of this other than me just using it for decoration on the day for little items. This is going to be useful, as I keep telling myself.

Also from Wilko’s I bought a couple of things from the Fruits section which is basically their body care/bath section. I’m going to tell you now, Mum’s love this stuff. I went for the purple flavour (I realise it’s not a flavour, but I can’t remember the actual flavour so for now it’s purple) and from that I bought the body scrub and the body butter. My Mum literally gets high on body butter, she loves the stuff. I could’ve just got her this and she would love me already. I’m telling you, Mum’s love it. The Fruits collection has a whole load of scents including coconut, I think orange was in there somewhere. There is something in there for someone, and they’re ridiculously cheap.

The last thing I bought from Wilko’s (I literally piled it into my basket) were two purple mugs, one for the Mother and the other for the Step-Mother. Do I need to justify the purple this far into the blog post? They both love purple and anything purple they need! They both love their tea so I thought it would be really cute if they had matching mugs. Wrapping this however was not a cute story. I’m just going to apologise for that fact that the images in your heads are probably better than what they genuinely look like. They’re pretty big and they’re white on the inside and the best part about them being dark purple, you won’t see any stains! Always thinking of the positives! The lovely lady in the shop also wrapped it in brown paper for me to decrease the risk of damage (I didn’t break them, I’m so proud!).

I then went into Topshop. I wasn’t planning on buying anything from there, until I went to the sale section. I’m sorry, I am one of those people! Don’t ever forget to check the sale sections, you never know what beauty’s you will find in there. My Mum actually said on the way there when she was dropping me off she wanted purple nail varnish, well guess who delivered! As you can tell, the nail polish on the left was £1.50 and the one on the right was £2 (you get that only clue!). The normal price for Topshop nail polishes are around £6 or £7, maybe even higher. I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with them and I know they will both love them. I didn’t get the names of them before I wrapped them, but they’re two different nail polishes. The one on the left has like white dots within it, so it’s one of those 3D texture ones and the other has like a metallic sheen. I will give the one on the left to my Mum and the one on the right to my Step-Mum. They both love doing their nails and I don’t think you can really go wrong with nail polish.

The next place I went was New Look. If you want to get nice but cheap makeup or perfume, I totally recommend New Look or Primark or any shop like that (as I previously mentioned, Topshop is quite pricey so I tend to stick to the sale section there!). I knew that Primark had fairly new perfumes out, so thought I’d check them out and see if there was one I thought my Mum would like. I’m pretty good as knowing what smells my Mum likes in perfume and what she doesn’t, so this was pretty easy. It was also in slightly purple packaging as well! She likes a bit more mature scents that aren’t too sweet but aren’t too weak. I really hope she likes this one, but I know she’d use it anyway! The one I picked up was Pure Dusk. Another little clue: I think this was the most expensive thing I picked up. You better not be cheating, as well!

The final place I went was Superdrug. I find that Superdrug tends to have really cheap chocolate and sweets and they always seem to have deals on, so I went in there to go get the last couple of bits. Also, points on my card, can’t complain! I bought my Step-Mum Starburst as she prefers sweets over chocolate and also, most Haribo’s have the price written on the packaging which is not the way to go if it’s a present! I also bought my Mum a huge bar of the Maltesers Teasers as she loves Maltesers (as do I!) and she says she on a diet, well, I can always help! Yes, so look in Superdrug for cheap sweets!

Right, and there we have it! If you’ve been playing that oh-so-fun game, quickly write your answer in the comments before I tell you. The total amount of money I took with me and spent on presents was £20. I know, all that for only £20! I’m actually really proud of myself but it’s because I went looking for all those deals! I really hope you have taken some of these tips and go on to use them because they really do help if you’re on a budget but do want to spoil someone a little bit. Let me know what you got your Mum for Mother’s Day or what you did to celebrate in the comments below!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Rachel xx

Christmas Money Haul 2016: Claires, New Look & Boohoo

Good Evening Munchkins!

Today I have a haul for you which I haven’t done in the longest time so I’m just really excited! These are items I bought with money that I got for Christmas so most of the stuff I’m going to show you was in the sales (I’m sorry). Everything I’ve bought I truly love as I feel like if I’m spending other people’s money I shouldn’t waste it. This is mainly fashion related but there are some other bits and bobs I’m going to show you. I’m so excited to show you everything I’ve bought! This one may be a long one so do get yourself a hot beverage to enjoy whilst we recollect everything! Also, I have the worst memory so I’m not going to include any prices just so I don’t feel bad when I leave some out.

The first place I went was Claire’s as I had a voucher and vouchers are the reason I leave the house after Christmas, if I’m going to be honest! I’m nearly 15 (which is just weird and odd in all ways) so I do struggle to look for things in Claire’s I will use and make the most out of; my go to would be 20 million lip balms but I already have so many of them to use up as it is!

I’m sorry for the bluriness of this photo, I promise they’re not all like this!

The first thing I purchased from there was this canvas board that says ‘Enjoy the little things’ in blue glitter. They had a range of these and this one was my favourite out of the selection and let’s be honest, this looks so cool! I have this hung up on my wall so it brings a lot of colour to my white walls. Nothing like a glittery, motivational quote! Also, I thought it was funny because I’m small so enjoy this little bundle of 5 foot 1 goodness (though the other day I got measured and it said I was 5ft2 and a half inches. I don’t think so!)! I really like this and it’s hung on the wall at the end of my bed so when I wake up every morning it’s there to greet me! The canvas itself is fairly small (I don’t know measurements, I’m sorry!) so can fit into any space you may have. It also has a hook so can easily be placed onto a nail in the wall because everyone has loads of them lying around, clearly!

The second thing I bought from Claires was a Pineapple flavoured face mask. As I type I haven’t yet used it but I’m really excited to; I love tropical fruits as it reminds me of holidays (and sun and orange and all the good things I miss so much in life!). I don’t use face masks all the time as I do tend to forget I have them on and so don’t wash them off but I think I’m going to enjoy this one a lot! I don’t know how many benefits it has but I’m going to share this with my Mum because I chose this one with her and I know how much she likes pampering! Yay!

The second place I went was New Look but this was online so you’re probably more likely to get this stuff! Haha. I bought a *lot* from here so I’m going to try and categorise it but hey, it’s me! Also, there are a lot of crop tops and I did want to write a crop top look book with other one’s I already own in the Spring so let me know if you still want to see that. I probably will, but hey! And I look really fat in these photos, I’m sorry for burning your eyes!

I think I will actually start with the crop tops. The first I bought was this grey one with quite thick straps and a button-style feature at the front. I love this and I think I’ll get to much wear out of this one! The crop tops are really cheap at the moment in the sale at New Look so grab some whilst you can! If I’m going to be really honest, I wanted this because I knew that the circular neckline would really make certain curves stand out and make them look their best, so sorry for that! It is sleeveless so I am going to keep it for Spring/Summer but I could wear this with leggings, jeans, my black leather skirt, just everything! Even shorts, maybe, if I’m feeling really adventurous! This is one of my favourites! Also, because of the thick straps I don’t have to worry about a bra! Girl issues, seriously!

The next crop top I bought was this one here and it has an absolutely gorgeous pink and black floral pattern on! I look disgusting in this picture, I’m so sorry! I feel like this one is a little longer so could potentially be tucked into a very high-waisted skirt but I love it. Being ‘big-chested’ I may struggle with the bra strap issue as it has spaghetti straps but we’ll work around it, we’ll find a way! For this top, I will. I don’t know why I got so many crop tops; I just went on a splurge! Body confidence! I feel like the last one was very everyday whereas this one could be more dress-y perhaps because of the pattern. I did buy this for the pattern; it’s so stunning though it does look more black and white in the picture. It does show my cleavage off a bit too which I like.

The third crop top is this neon orange, ribbed textured one. These were everywhere last summer and so I thought I would jump on the band wagon. When taking these photos I was wearing a terrible bra, I’m sorry (I feel like all I’m doing is apologising!)! I did buy this just because it was orange and orange is my life; I’m not even kidding you! I don’t actually own that many orange items of clothing so I thought this one would just be perfect and it was so cheap as well! I could also pair this with black shorts in the summer or just leggings or whatever. I love it though! Oh, and all three of these crop tops were stretchy and ranged from a size 10-14 because when you love something you will shrink for it!

I did also buy a normal sized top and it was another orange one only this one is more of a lighter orange, more of a peach if you will. This is in a 12 but it’s HUGE! This is supposed to be baggy and it really is! This is just another everyday top with a small pocket (my hairs kind of hiding it but you can see the bottom of it) and it has mid-tops-of-the-arm’s length. I think I’m going to get a lot of wear out of this as well as you can wear it with shorts or leggings or jeans or just about anything! I love everyday tops, they’re so comfy and you can wear them anytime, anywhere. New Look is also really good quality and because it’s pretty plain this could last me years. It is very long though (it goes past my bum) so I do have to slightly raise it when wearing it so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing my Mum’s clothes (despite my Mum being smaller than me!)!

In everyday wear, I also bought this pair of leggings. Well, they were called leggings but they’re a bit thicker and sturdier than leggings so I’d call them trousers if we’re going to be fussy about it! I’ve wanted a pair of ‘leggings’ with a pattern on like this for literally years as it will go with any plain top or black/plain jumper so would be really handy. Other than this I literally own black jeans, black leggings and one pair of blue jeggings. I just wanted a bit of life and I think with something plain on top it can look really nice. Also, building that confidence up! Like leggings, it doesn’t have any kind of zip or anything, they’re just a pull-up kind of thing (which is a bonus in my books considering I forget about fliers a lot! My life is one massive awkward moment, I swear!).

Onto nightwear, I bought this blue and red, tartan patterned playsuit. I don’t own anything like this and I thought this would be perfect for summer. I realise a lot of this is for summer but it was so cheap I couldn’t resist it! Considering it was in the sale as well it’s really good quality! It has spaghetti straps and has a really thin, lightweight material so will be great for those hot Summer Nights (name that musical!). I just hope I’m not jinxing hot weather for 2016! Very looking forward to wearing this. Also, if I do go on a summer holiday this wear, it’s very small and easy to fold-up so won’t take up much room in my bag. I don’t know how I’m going to feel once this is uploaded and this picture is out there … oh well! Body Confidence Round 2!

I also bought myself a new dressing gown which I’m entirely in love with! This is very easily another of my favourites! My current one is pink with lighter pink hearts on from Monsoon in size 9-10 (years, might I add) and is still too big for me so I thought it was time for a new one! This one is in Medium and fits me perfectly. It’s not too long or too short and ties round comfortably. The best bit: ‘This girl loves sleep’ is written in black on the back and it just describes me perfectly! It’s more of a creamy white and is super soft and fluffy and I’m just in love with this dressing gown! I would literally sleep in this as well, it’s so cosy!

Onto socks. I love socks and they had an offer on which I had to take. The one’s with a penguin face on once you line them up were in the sale and were really good value for SOCKS with PENGUINS on (I could not want much more in life!) so of course into my basket it went! I also bought three other pairs which were in an offer for something like 3 for 2 or something like that, I’m not too sure. One is navy with red anchors on (I’m craving an anchor tattoo!), another is white with cartoon/superhero-style words on (like ‘Boom’, ‘Pow’, etc., we’re a very superhero based family!) and another with red tartan print (they were too cute!). I wear socks literally all the time and I have a weird obsession for them so it was a no brainer really!

The last thing I bought from New Look was this Top/Base Coat Nail Polish. You know when you’ve got that odd £3 or so left and you don’t know what to get because you’ve already bought 4 pairs of socks and 3 crop tops so you turn to the Beauty section for much needed help! I didn’t want to buy just any old nail polish because I don’t paint my nails very often and I didn’t want it to go to waste so I bought a pretty basic Top/Base Coat one as I don’t actually own one. This may help longevity and taking it off so I will get back to you for that. This was also the one thing I bought that wasn’t in the sale.

The final place I went was Boohoo. I had just ordered from New Look but the dress I’d ordered went out of stock before it could get sent to my house so I turned to Boohoo for my retail therapy! I don’t have too much from Boohoo but I genuinely love that website and their stock lasts so long, so yes I will be linking what I bought, you lucky people! I knew I wanted a winter dress (as that is what I ordered from New Look and had set my heart on) and soon I came across this dress:

Oh buddy! This is a bottle-green, long-sleeved swing dress and words cannot describe the love I feel for it! I might even wear it for my birthday with black tights and black heels! This is more evening than the dress I’d seen on New Look but I’m very OK with that. It has a slightly thin material but it is warm and very soft and my life is now complete! I love this colour for winter; I feel it really compliments me and I know come December I will wear this a lot for Christmas! Talking about Christmas again already, oh dear! This came in a range of colours and was also very affordable. I’m sometimes unsure of swing dresses because they can either be really flattering (especially for curvier girls) or hang off your boobs and make you look like you’re expecting triplets but this one has ticked all my boxes and I’m very happy about it!

And there we have it! The world’s biggest haul done! Let me know what you bought with your Christmas money if you did get some, or instead what presents you did get and are currently loving. I hope you have enjoyed this blog post as much as I have!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,

Christmas Present Ideas (Mums) | Blogmas

Good Evening Munchkins,

Today I have another Christmas-y blog post for you and it is showing you what I have bought my Mum and my Step-Mum for Christmas. I did a similar blog post to this but with my friends so it will be like that only with different people. I’m quite happy with their presents considering my budget but, of course, my Mum deserves the world instead of these few bits I’ve got her. It does annoy me that she gets me so much but because I’m young and don’t have a job I can’t get her the amount she actually deserves. Soppy moment over. This is the total buying arangement:

So I’m going to start with my Mum. As a little synopsis (if you will), my Mum likes purple, comfort, baths (long, long baths!) and being relaxed. Hopefully that should help explain my purchases. She is also very small, smaller than me. She’s like a little Oompa Loompa.

The first present I bought her was these socks from Primark. My Mum is one of those people that wear socks all the time. The only time I am reassured she has feet is when we’re on holiday and she’s just had her pedicure done. As I’ve just mentioned she loves purple so this was a no brainer for me really. They’re so soft and I love the Primark fluffy socks, so I know she will as well. These were only £2.50 for a pack of two and I know she’ll get a lot of use out of these. Perfect. I’ve signed this from myself and all of my brothers so we all get credit (though it was of course all me!).

I also went into Lush for her presents (which was my main intentions but the Primark sign just lured me in) as she really does love Lush and the bath bombs I’d previously given her. This time I’ve gotten her two, one from myself and my eldest brother and another from my younger two brothers. This first one I signed from the younger two; Bar Humbug. I let my eldest brother choose which one we give her and he chose the one I’ll show you in a second. I didn’t want to take it out the packaging as I didn’t want it to get damaged or anything but there are pictures on the website that you can go have a look at. This is one I knew I needed to get for my Mum as soon as the Christmas collection was released, as it’s purple, it’s a bubble bar and will last her a long time. I’m not too keen on the scent (think blackcurrant wine gums and you’re not far off) but I know she will love this in her bath! This one was £3.65.

The second product from Lush I bought her was Golden Wonder. I was given this by a friend last year and loved it; it’s really big so it can be broken up or used for a long bath, it leaves your skin all glittery and it smells so good! I don’t know how to describe this scent, but it’s nice, just take my word for it! It’s also shaped like a present so looks super cute once it’s taken out the packaging. I was humming and harring (is that how you spell it?) which one to get and I knew how good this was from experience, and I knew to get a Christmas one as they’re not available all year. Of course if I’d had a bigger budget, I would’ve bought a few more for her, but I know she’ll love what I’ve got her. This one cost me £3.95.

The evil stepmother (she’s not really evil, but it fits in with the panto season!) is fairly similar to Mum (loves purple) but I kind of struggled to buy for her. We’re complete opposites so I did have to ask her, but I couldn’t get her exactly what she wanted. She’ll have to do, I’ve stressed over it too much! She’s a 90’s kid, so loves Lizzie Maguire, old Disney Channel shows (where we bond) and cooking.

The first thing I bought her was the Miss Sporty Millionaire Eye Liner in 004 Winning Purple. She told me she wanted a purple liquid liner but I couldn’t find one and the ones I looked at online were out of my price range. This was the closest I could find, so she should be fine with it. This was only £2.49. On its own, it didn’t look like much, so I bought her another present to go with it (those linking skills though!).

The second present I bought her was another product from Miss Sporty and is the Studio Colour Quattro Eye Shadow in 402 Smokey Green Eyes. I think it’s called ‘Green Eyes’ as purple makes green pop, and she has brown eyes, but it’s purple so she’ll like it. I genuinely think I’m more excited than her for these presents as I know I might just have to try it on her. Oh, what a shame! This was only £2.99 and for four colours that’s pretty good, even if they are very small. She doesn’t wear makeup much so I know these colours will be plenty for her anyway.

And there we have it! The presents for both the mothers! Let me know what you have bought your parents this year for Christmas and why, I always love buying for others! My little generous heart, haha. Let me know what you think of what I’ve bought and whether these products are actually any good!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon,
